It's fisticuffs aplenty as tow of Sonic's most personal foes are introduced for the very first time! The parade of robotic Sonics debuts in this volume with the evil Pseudo-Sonic! We also see how a good hedgehog can go bad with the nasty Evil Sonic. It's laughs galore as Sonic Encounters the Nerbs, and Larry the Super-Jinx makes his first appearance!
Sonic Archives Volume 3 is the point at which I started to collect the comics in real life, back when I was the appropriate age for these! Thus, I am quite fond of these stories despite their mediocre nature. The main stories of interest deal with the very first robot Sonic (Pseudo Sonic) and the introduction of the multiverse and Evil Sonic! These two things will come back over and over in the rest of the series, so it's fun to see their horrible start :D Everything is terribly cliche, but I loved these comics to bits.
A funny one indeed! Who could've thought that Sonic himself would have to deal with clones of him that are robotic and evil? Obviously it's a successful archive. Pseudo-Sonic is one who is a mechanical copy of his inspiration (alas, looking very odd) but he is thrashed without much effort. Then there's Evil Sonic, who's a twisted version of the hedgehog who lives in a reversed universe. But otherwise I found the other material good as well, so you can borrow this from the library or buy it if you find that Archie Sonic is up your league.
This is one of the least offensive volumes of the early years of Archie Sonic. With the exception of a short prehistoric time travel escapade, everything in the volume is pretty solid and important. It's also the first appearance of my favorite Sonic character, Scourge the Hedgehog! Or Evil Sonic as he was called back in 1994. It's crazy how many major plotlines from the issues in the late 100s and early 200s were pulling from concepts introduced in these earliest issues!
