Lord, Give Me a Heart for You: A Devotional Study on Having a Passion for God

Rate this book
Kay Arthur’s Newest “Lord” Book Examines The
Anatomy Of A Heart for God Through Paul’s Eyes.

Throughout his ministry the Apostle Paul was criticized, opposed, and attacked. He wrestled with his weaknesses. He struggled with fragile relationships. He was often weary, tired, and discouraged.
Kay Arthur knows there are times when you can identify with Paul's experience. You feel overwhelmed by conflicts without and fears within. You yearn to experience the God of wisdom and power. You, like Paul, want deeply to be a person whose sole passion is to please God.
In this study based on 2 Corinthians, Kay examines the anatomy of a heart for God. What it looks like. What it feels like. And how you can strengthen your own relationship with God.
Despite the deep physical, emotional, and spiritual pain of life, Paul could rest in the God of all comfort and strength. He could walk in obedience to his calling. He could fight the good fight, finish his race, and keep the faith.
And now, through this compelling, insightful, and moving Bible study, so can you.

“What does a heart for God look like when lived out in flesh and blood in the daily circumstances of life? As we walk together through 2 Corinthians, Acts, and other portions of Scripture, we'll begin to understand what it's like to have a heart like His.” –Kay Arthur

THE “LORD” SERIES by Kay Arthur is an insightful, warm-hearted Bible study series designed to meet you where you are–and help you discover God’s answers to your deepest needs.

She and Jack also served briefly as missionaries in Mexico before founding their ministry. Arthur remained active in public faith-based initiatives into her later years and was known for her firm stances on social issues. A brilliant study on 2 Corinthians. It had enough depth that you actually learned about the book in a timely manner without skimming over or just scratching the surface like so many other bible studies.

I enjoyed the second half better, but I think this was because I used a bible journal that I got for Christmas to mark the text, rather than using the scripture at the back of the book. I will definitely use the marking approach like this for any future bible studies.

This was my second Kay Arthur study and I look forward to doing more in the future! Dv

I have come to really like the Kay Arthur Devotional Studies. They have lots of interesting insights. This one is into Paul as he writes 2 Corinthians, a book that is sometimes easy to skim over. In doing this book with a group of women I saw much more than I would have alone. I would suggest grabbing a friend or two with whom to explore this book. As usual, Kay Arthur is very thorough.
A very good study book.

This book is a very good study/devotional book! It helps you dive deeper into the book of 2 Corinthians. It is a very structured study that is very good if you truly want to examine this scripture yourself and then have some more explanation on top of that. I gave it 3 stars probably mostly just because I didn’t actually read it as a devotional and I tried to read it like a normal book haha

Paul’s honest letter to the Corinthian church helps me understand the importance of pleasing God over man. I can celebrate my weaknesses because God demonstrates His power through them. What a beautiful and loving God!

This was a nice study of 2 Corinthians. While I didn't agree with all her theology, the fact that she builds her study on scripture makes it still worth the time.

this was the first Kay Arthur study I have done. I went through the study with my sister in law via skype, as we live in different cities. it was awesome! I liked learning firsthand about studying the Bible inductively. You will need colored pencils of some sort while studying this to mark your Bible.

This was my first Kay Arthur study with other ladies. I enjoyed the study and her approach to Bible Study. It challenged me in areas that had not been challenged. I wish I had studied under her earlier. I would have more heart knowledge than head knowledge.

I loved this study. It is on Paul's second letter to the Corinthians. It helped me as I struggled through some the same issues Paul struggled with, as a minister of the Gospel. It is an encouraging study.
