“Unique Ability is the essence of what you love to do and do best. There are four characteristics of Unique Ability: It's a superior ability that other people notice and value; you are passionate about using it and want to use it as much as possible; it's energizing both for you and others around you; and there's a sense of never-ending improvement—you keep getting better and better and never run out of possibilities for growth" (11).

"Rewards only flow reliably to those who first create value for others" (92).

This book was very helpful and encouraging. For the first time in my life I have clarity about my abilities and passions. And I have hope that I can use them for both mine good and the good of others.

To create the life you want it requires first discovering your Unique Ability. This book was recommended to me by someone I highly admire. The book provided exercises and guidance on how to achieve one's highest and best self. - Karen Briscoe, author "Real Estate Success in 5 Minutes a Day"

This book gives the idea that everyone has a Unique Ability. Utilizing that, everyone can find the one thing which makes them happy and thriving throughout their life for doing so. It is a life long challenge, and I am curios what mine will turn out to be during the exercises.

Yet another book from work. I'd pretty much just see my review on The GAP, but for the minor differences: I like that this book emphasises the need to be happy in your position--mostly occupational. It tells you to find what you're best at, and focus on those things--and also to find what you LOVE and thrive at. It acknowledges that delegating is vital to survival, and it recommends taking a test called the Kolbe Index. I took the test for work, and it goes pretty in depth into your personal strengths and weaknesses. If you're willing to take the time and energy to do what the book and test recommend, I think you'd be better off for reading it.

Suggested by my boss, this has a very exciting concept. That each of us have our own Unique Ability. That our focus should be on cultivating and developing that further. That we should not spend time getting better at what we are not good at, or what we are not passionate about.
It's exciting to begin the journey of defining my own Unique Ability, and at the same time it is a bit unnerving, as there is underlying fear that I may not have one. I'll have to go through this process to see where it takes me. But the book seems to give you great guidance and a few activities to help you define and target your path to self-discovery.

This book was foundational for helping me understand how to focus my business. I used this book to help me know which tasks to hire out first. It also gave me surprising insight into the difference between what I'm good at and what I'm great at.

Can't recommend this book highly enough for entrepreneurs at all levels.

Very simple buy powerful way of outlining the importance of identifying what we are good at and what we enjoy doing, and then focus our lives around tasks and activities that match this unique ability.

So far I am loving it. Started last night and I am 1/4 of the way through.
I am learning a lot about myself and how to become better than who I am today.
This is very empowering.
