Deserted Lilies #2

Breaking Bridges

When things seem to good to be true…

It all went to hell. I’m away from the tour, 4A is doing it all on its own again. Meanwhile I’m back as a rehab nurse, helping people get better. I’m not sure if I’m safe, I don’t know if I’ll ever be. The one thing I do know is that while I might be here, my heart isn’t in it.

My heart is with them.

With Madden, who is having a real hard time staying away from the very thing that could kill him. With Wolf, who feels so guilty he can’t even muster up the energy for mischief. With Bryson, who will carry his pain in silence as ever. And even with Xem, who’s probably happy that I’m gone, but is still taking his anger out on his drums and the world.

Until the one thing happens that will make me come out of hiding. Where I’m concerned I’d stay hidden from my ex for the rest of my life – only now it’s time to step back into the spotlight again.

My name is Evangaline Hart, but you can call me Evan, and this is my story of how I followed 4A around Europe and we hopefully all make it back alive.

Kris Vanc (pen name) is a thirty something living in The Netherlands. She writes smutty books, because once she fell down that rabbit hole there was no getting out of it. Mostly because she's a giant klutz and once she's down she can't get back up. Oh well. Between working and her family, she writes what the voices tell her during the day. No worries, her therapist assures you she's somewhat sane.

Loves a good character development, redemption, banter and jokes. Give her a book, coffee, something to eat (anything really) and she's good to go. Large collection of book boyfriends. Has a weird obsession with serial killers.

Deserted Lilies #2 Breaking Bridges by Kris Vanc

A gritty, emotional, and addictive sequel.

Kris Vanc delivers a powerful and emotionally charged sequel with Breaking Bridges, the second book in the Deserted Lilies trilogy. This installment takes us deeper into Evan’s tumultuous journey as she struggles to reconcile her past trauma, her love for the members of 4A, and the dangers that continue to shadow her life.

From the start, the novel grips you with its raw intensity. Evan’s internal conflict is palpable she’s back to working as a rehab nurse, trying to rebuild some semblance of stability, yet her heart remains with the band. Each of the four men, Madden, Wolf, Bryson, and Xem carries his own wounds, and their pain seeps through the pages, making the stakes feel incredibly high. The chemistry between Evan and her love interests is electric, filled with angst, longing, and undeniable passion.

Vanc doesn’t shy away from tough subjects, and the book’s darker themes are handled with depth and realism. The emotional weight of the story is balanced with moments of hope, love, and the unbreakable bond between the characters. As Evan is forced to step back into the spotlight, the tension builds toward a gripping climax that leaves you eager for the final book.

If you loved Deserted Lilies #1, this sequel will not disappoint. Breaking Bridges is a rollercoaster of emotions, beautifully written with complex characters and a story that keeps you hooked until the last page. Just be prepared for an intense ride and check the trigger warnings before diving in. A heart-wrenching, addictive read that will leave you desperate for book three.

"Breaking Bridges" is the second book in the "Deserted Lilies" series, and it has all the juicy goodness I loved so much from the very start of this series. It is hard to truly describe how I felt while reading this book... At times it was brutal, with heartfelt emotions that almost broke my heart, and a few chapters later I had the biggest smile on my face, feeling so happy and light. It has chapters that made me blush, and others that made me sit at the edge of my seat, anxious to find out what would happen next. Reading this book put me on an emotional rollercoaster I can't wait to ride again...

And then there are the characters... I already claimed Wolf, he's still the virtual love of my life, but I might have to add a few more of these men to my harem. I love Madden's spirit, Bryson's silent support and I'm even starting to warm up towards Xem's tortured soul. But the most beautiful thing remains the bromance between all these men; everyone's life would be so much better with unconditional love like that.

"Breaking Bridges" took me on a tour through Europe, and it was quite fun to revisit some of the places I've been before through the virtual eyes of a bunch of rockstars on the road. I wish I could find my own band to take me on a tour like this... Even though this book doesn't end in a brutal cliffhanger, I can't wait to read the final book in this series! And then I'll probably just start reading the series all over again...

Book 1 e des on a cliffhanger, so book 2 immediately picks up where book 1 left off. I will say book 1 it was a lot of charaxter development and relarionahip development. I was hoping that in book 2, the mc storyline amped up, and maybe more of the harem would form. The harem is coming together nicely, but to me, this book needed some more plot. I felt in a way just the same conversations over and over. Now Madden atill.vwry much dealing with his addiction, and you have Xem very scared and hurt. Bryson, you hardly see much from in book 2 but just more like a silent rock, and wolf is wolf. Xem is a jerk still 95% of the book. I do not understand why there are 3 books in the series when I felt like this book could be wrapped up quickly . The editing is better in book 2. I'm starting to struggle wanting to move forward.

I’ve received an ARC for this baby and I couldn’t be happier about it!

I’m giving this one a 5 star mainly because I couldn’t stop reading and I really love how Kristi can write Evan’s relationship dynamics so flawlessly and addictive.

The guys are now entering a more serious part of their relationship and I’m dying to see how Xem is gonna add to Evan’s harem.

This is definitely a book that focused a lot more on the harem’s growth, background stories, banter and love than on the MC’s plot.

The only thing for me was that I wanted there to be more chapters in the beginning for me to understand how sad Evan was and how all the guys were coping cause it was very quick.

Other than that, I really really loved it!

Utterly Amazing!!!

To say I loved everything about this book almost makes it seem like I'm lying or exaggerating, but I absolutely adored this book. It had everything! Heartbreak, Redemption, Love, Spice, Friendship, and Family. I cannot say enough good things about how well this story flowed. I was shocked when I was 90% done because I had lost all track of where I was in the book, and I had no idea I had read so much of it.

I really love all of the MCs. They feel visceral and so real. The love the band has for each other is frickin epic in its own way, and brings me no end of happiness to experience it. Thank you so much Kris! This was amazing and more than I hoped it would be. I've already got the final preordered and I cannot wait to see where the story takes us!!

I CANNOT WAIT for book 3. Not because there’s some terrible cliffhanger, but because it’s just. that. good.

This group of characters has stolen my heart. As I said in the review for book one, it’s not just the main characters either. Every single background and side character has their own personality and brings something to the story. And there is nothing quite like an a**hole rockstar uncle hanging out with a baby.

And good lord when the a**hole finally comes around (there’s light at the end of the tunnel) it’s going to be 💣🔥.

The MC part of this book’s plot just really took away from the book for me. It made things ridiculous IMO. Too unrealistic. There is enough of a plot with just the main characters and their issues and paths to healing, that it didn’t need the rest. Maybe just Nathan stalking her or something. Even sending a few of his guys. But to have influence on European MCs? Yeah…..the book didn’t need it. Xem also did not do really anything to redeem himself in my book. I only really kept reading because Wolf cracks me up.

3 star series at many times it dipped to 2 star but after thinking it over between all 3 books i think it scraped by and got 3 stars

Evans monologues were boring and I hated how she kept on brining up that the real rockstar was the mom Keisha like ok i get it cute once but she says it way too often and she got really annoying. By the end of book 2 i was done with this series but ai mad myself read book 3. But ya I would not reread this series it had way too much boredom and was way too long.

Another great one!

I loved the character back stories that made me love Wolf, and Brycen, and even Xem even more. The book had equal parts, fun, excitement, and twists that I somewhat expected, but took me in a totally different direction than my mind could prepare for! Super excited to see how the story ends, and hoping the twists and turns continue!

Was a bit bored. The story feels dragged out and everything keeps getting repeated. Going to read the 3rd book because I do enjoy the characters and I want to see how it ends. Probably would have been better as a duet

Great Series! This book covers 4A’s European Tour with Victorious getting closer everyday. Love the characters. They just come alive, with everyone having their own issues, needs, and personalities yet have such a great dynamic. Can’t wait to see how this story turns out.
