Hard to rate first person accounts, it was their life. It was interesting though to read an account written by my great great grandmother, Maria Yurechuk (Erichuk). Could you imagine travelling down the north sask river with a homemade raft and 4 children? 😂 cause they did! Lmao

Minus a star for some outdated language. But overall very enlightening.

Some of the stories in this book were so sad that I had to struggle not to cry when I read them to my class.
There's one story in particular that I'll never forget -- about how an "Indian" man (First Nations) helped a frightened little Ukrainian girl.
