The people in this book emigrated from Ukraine to Canada to escape persecution . It is to Canada's benefit that that these hardy pioneers persevered under conditions that would crush lesser folks. They richly deserve our gratitude and also our support in the new fight against opression in their homeland. We stand in their debt.
