Making many of the connections of outer banks history to American and world history is fascinating to me. It puts the light houses and the bridges in perspective and it really makes the drive up hatteras island much more interesting. I love reading about history on a local level. In this book you'll learn about everything from the lost colony of Roanoke to how Blackbeard was captured off of the OBX
