Maybe it's just me, but each story just kept getting better and better. Here are some quick thoughts of mine on each individual tale:

"Loving Spirits" by Lark Eden -- The story felt a bit rushed, but the characters' chemistry made it easy to forgive. I give it 4 out 5 stars.

"When Midnight Comes" by Lori Handeland -- The story started off kinda slow and depressing, but eventually picked up. The love scenes were sweet yet steamy at the same time. I loved the ending, which had me tearing up a bit (then again, I'm becoming a bit of a sentimental sap). I also give this story 4 out of 5 stars.

"The Shadow King" by Stobie Piel -- While the first two stories had elements of humor, this one was downright hilarious. I liked that the heroine had insecurities during the consummation scene, as it was realistic, but after a while, it became tedious when she was insecure about every little thing. Also tedious: the author's insistence on describing every single article of clothing that got removed (just say they got naked and move on!). I also liked the ending and that Edwy made the right choice in the end, but the reveal of his reincarnated enemy (by the way, loved the reincarnated twist of the story!) came out of left-field. Also, the resolution felt a bit rushed. Again, 4 out of 5 stars.

"Cat Magic" by Lynda Trent -- The story was just a little rushed, but at least there was an explanation given within the story itself. I loved the ending, especially the epilogue. And maybe it's because it's the last story, but this one was my favorite of the quartet. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.

Oh, and I dispute one user's claim that the book was full of "paranormal romance that happened to be taking place in October." Every single story dealt with Halloween in some form or another (i.e., in "The Shadow King," Edwy has to regain what he's lost by Halloween or he'll fade into nothingness).

I was hoping for stories that centered more around Halloween. The stories were paranormal romance that happened to be taking place in October.
