My destination wedding on an interstellar cruise ship just took a turn for the worse. Or was it actually a turn for the better?
There’s nothing more embarrassing than having my fiancée’s girlfriend shriek “no, stop!” in the middle of my wedding. Except nearly passing out at my now ex’s feet. His family has the nerve to laugh, and I cringe at the altar until a blue-skinned, winged alien named Arckon swoops down from above like an alien avenging angel. With me cradled in his arms, he carries me away from my mess of a life, saving me from further humiliation.
Now I’m stuck on the ship, running into my ex and his girlfriend everywhere I turn. To help me save face, Arckon offers to be my fake boyfriend. Between off-ship tours, succulent dinners, and stolen kisses with Arckon, I begin to suspect I’m falling in love for real.
Rebound relationships never work, and Arckon and I will part when the starship puts into port. Will my heart break again when the cruise is over?
Arckon is a standalone monster romance set in the Monster on Board world written by USA TODAY bestselling authors Alana Khan and Ava Ross. Expect steamy hijinks, humor, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
Ella and Darrell are having a destination wedding on a space cruise - until Darrell’s girlfriend shows up and objects to the wedding. Arckon comes to her rescue and the sparks start flying. A great read, wonderful characters, great descriptions of the worlds that are visited.
Shocked, angry and in pain, Ella’s wedding comes to a horrible end. It’s not easy facing her shame and doubts. But as fate would have it, she meets Archon, a loving caring “angel” who gently, patiently, tries to bring hope back into her life while restoring her self confidence.
Book two in this series Monster on Board reads like a dream. I think Book 2 has more developed characters than Book 1 and plot is excellent! Ella is vulnerable but not weak. Arckon, is a businessman who is busy chasing money but not a life. The two meet and the adventure begins! I loved the variety we get in alien heroes…very clever. I also appreciate the experiences of the excursions…just like a real cruise ship. Download and enjoy ❤️❤️❤️
This is the second book in the Monster on Board series. This is a well written, quick, fun read. Both the main characters were likable and I was invested to see them get their HEA. I wish the Ex had gotten some comeuppance though. Overall would recommend.
This is book 2 in a series of interconnected standalones. It can totally be read on its own.
This was a great short read! Ella is super cute, and I felt so bad for her at the beginning, and I immediately loved Arckon for literally flying to her help! Her ex and his b*tch are horrible, until the very end, and even if we don't see it on the page, I hope their have a terrible rest of their lives! I loved Arckon and Ella's relashionship, how their were immediately attracted to each other, but were scared of hoping for more than fake dating. I can't wait for the 3rd book in the series! I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good alien romance.
Ella and Arckon was such a wonderfull book to read. Arckon saves Ella from the most embaracing moment of her life and not only that but he ends up saving her whole life. Ella actually does the same to Arckon that has Lost the flame of life, his enjoyment. Can't wait for book 3 , this first two are very good.
💙 “You’re much too tempting, little one.” ~~~ Ella is one kind, sweet and strong woman. I loved that, even after being left at the altar and despite all the hurt and betrayals, she never hesitated to stand up for herself and didn’t let anyone bring her down. Even more, despite the situation, I loved that she was ready to fully enjoy her time on the Jeweled Empress, even on her own. Ella is so wonderful and I loved her so, so much!
And Arckon is one absolutely phenomenal male! He’s protective, compassionate, thoughtful and so understanding. And he’s so sweet and kind. Even more, being the top producer in the company he works for, he’s hardworking, reliable and very well-respected. I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about this magnificent winged alien!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Ella and Arckon! After her disaster of a wedding, Arckon literally swoops her off her feet (*swoon*) and makes Ella an offer she’s more than happy to accept - pretend to be together and both get to have a traveling companion. I just adored those two together and I loved their chemistry! Even more, I had so much fun with the time they spent on the alien tours and getting to know one another. And what started as a fake relationship, soon turned into something so much more. I loved that Ella managed to help Arckon find the fun-loving male he once was and show him that there’s more to life than work. And I adored Arckon for proving to Ella that, despite everything she went through, she was more than worthy of love and commitment. And when they couldn’t keep their hands off each other anymore, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot! Oh, Arckon is full of surprises and… extras… and he definitely knows how to use them! Ella and Arckon were so perfect for each other and I couldn’t get enough of either of them!
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! I loved all the alien tours and amazing places we got to visit. With everything happening, I was glued to the pages till the very end. And the epilogue was just so perfect!
Overall, the story is another splendid addition to the series! It’s filled with adventure, humor, drama, surprises, smoking-hot romance and spectacular characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every page of it!
I really enjoyed reading this Sci-Fi monster romance and best of all it can be read as a standalone while being part of the “Monster on Board” series. The plot is well-paced and has extremely good world building with splendid scene descriptions of some very interesting situations that is a bit more serious in nature than the previous book “Xurek”. I found the characters (Ella) & (Arckon) very likable & endearing with realistic emotional feelings & expectations. The secondary characters play good supporting roles throughout the storyline. It is about: a female (Ella) about to marry her fiancée (Darrel Brandon Smithmore III) is devastated & humiliated when Darrel’s so-called ex-girlfriend (Brittney) objects to the wedding and just as she is about to fall, she is rescued by a business-minded blue-skinned, winged alien male with fangs (Arckon) There is: various kinds of aliens, humans, interstellar cruise travel, adventure, humor, mates, mild suspense, drama, twists & turns, intrigue, deceit, betrayal, malicious behavior, some vengeful feelings, unexpected attractions, protectiveness, misunderstandings, compromises, contentment, love, steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy conclusion for this couple.
Arckon has become a lot like any of us. He has focused rather more on work than he should have and has forgotten how to be carefree. When he sees a mating ceremony about to take place. He is not that interested in it until it doesn’t go quite according to plan and he appears to be the only one actually watching the bride. He cannot help but step in and whisk her away. Ella was about to settle for someone that in truth wasn’t worth it but she hadn’t quite realised it yet. When it all blows up and she finds herself jilted, she finds that she is not as heart-broken as she thought she would be. Hurt and humiliated yes but her heart is definitely safe, well sort of as her rescuer seems to have made more of an impression on it over the past couple of days then her fiance did over years! I loved this couple. Arckon coming to the realisation that he has been missing out and that he has been existing rather truly living. Ella was fabulous. She just leapt of the pages as someone who was kind, had a lovely sense of adventure and was also a little bit of klutz when embarrassed.
I'm glad I gave this Monster on Board series another shot after Xurek. In truth, I'm most interested in book 4, Jarrn, because it's friends to lovers but these are so short I didn't feel like it was worth skipping the other two in-between.
Arckon was pretty alright. I liked it - and Arckon himself - much better than Xurek. There's a blue winged alien, spaceship cruise honeymoon featuring excursions on different planets, and fake dating. There was better relationship building between the two main characters, Arckon and Ella, even despite it happening quickly and right after she's left at the altar. There was enough there as Ella tries to enjoy herself that it felt possible.
The 11th hour climax/resolution was yawn city, obvious, and overdramatic. Like it was literally minutes if not seconds difference in waiting and lack of communication. Ugh. Would have much preferred something else.
Talk about White well, Blue Knight swooping in to save the day! Ella's humiliation is complete and as she's about to fall to the floor face first, a winged Adonis comes to her rescue. Arckon wasn't even supposed to be on this cruise, well, not by himself anyway. When he sees the female being left at her mating ceremony, he knows he must help her. The next day when he sees the "evil couple" acting like they're trying to win a loving cup in front of Ella, he knows what he must do. The two of them decide they'll get to know each other and have as much fun as they can. He gets a companion for the trip and she gets revenge on her ex. It's a win win! But how do they separate their true feelings from pretense? And more importantly, do they really want to? Broken trust, insta-love and a misunderstanding make for one great story!
Ella is about to marry Darrel, he's safe, solid, and will be a good husband. They love each other right? Except when a female voice screeches " I object" during the ceremony and Darrel leaves her to follow the screecher. In shock, Ella turns to leave, the heel of her shoe breaks and she's falling. Suddenly she is picked up and flown away from the chapel, away from Darrel's laughing family and away from her cheating ex. Arckon was supposed to be on the cruise with a good friend but the friend broke his leg and couldn't go. He was enjoying a drink, looking over the rail and saw Ella start to fall, flew down, wrapped her in his wings to shield her and then flew her back to her room. And that's the start of this fun great story. Ava and Alana are great co-writing storytellers. Their imaginations create the best locations and characters. Always a treat with a HEA.
ARRGG! I am running out of ways to say how good this book is!!! Ella is left at the altar and Arckon swoops (literally) in to save her. So..we start with action that does not stop. Arckon is an amazing male, sweet, strong, hot and he flies! Then we have Ella who is sweet with a warm, beautiful heart. We have sexy times, adventure and a couple of really great villains in her ex and his ..well I want to call her his skank but that's just rude so I will call her his girlfriend. I really enjoyed this shorter story by Ava Ross and Alana Khan. They have turned out to be a really good writing team. Tho that really isn't a surprise considering I have loved everything I've read by either of them! This series is shaping up to be a favorite! 5 happy stars!
Can you imagine being at your wedding and as the ceremony starts, your significant other's girlfriend shows up, and he goes to her?! How atrocious! But on the positive side, a sexy male saves you from this embarrassment and helps you enjoy what would have been your honeymoon. Now the fun can actually begin. The story of Arckon and Ella was a fast-paced, emotionally charged ride. I loved it! It was fun to see how they dealt with the ex-fiance and his nasty side piece. If you enjoy sarcasm, steamy love, and watching mean girls not get what they want, then grab ahold of this story and enjoy the ride!
Jilted at the altar by her unfaithful fiancé, Ella is rescued by a winged male at the worst moment of her life. Arckon spied what was happening only by chance, but his dramatic rescue brings together two people who are longing for love giving them both a second chance…
Another fun, fast read in this series, it features a hero who needs to learn how to relax, and a heroine who realizes that perhaps her new beginnings will lead to a better life! It’s a quick read, some sexy times, and a small amount of action: perfect beach, or armchair-by-the-fire, escapist sci-fi romance.
I absolutely loved this story. Arckon was THE alien, and having him come and be the everything you needed was just everything we needed and more. Let me tell you, I was swooning right from the initial introduction of the two. And, Ella, omg, what a lady to had been through all of this because if this had happened to me, I would not have acted and done some of the things she did....lol. Bless her heart for taking everything in stride and trying to make the best of it, and having Arckon around was the most icing on top of the cake here. The storyline was entertaining, exciting, romantic, and spicy. A definite read in my books!
What a sweet treat on a sultry summer night! The perfect before bedtime read! Ella is deceived by her scheming fiance. He leaves her at the alter on a fabulous cruise ship. Not to worry though because Arckon swoops down and rescues her from humiliation and from making the worst mistake of her life. Ella and Arckon decided to spend their time together and go on all the excursions she had planned on for her honeymoon. As they get to know one another love grows and their attraction boils over!! This was such a fun read! It captured the imagination I definitely want a Arckon of my very own. Loved it!🔥💖🔥💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟
Standing at the altar, looking at your betrothed, when every woman's nightmare comes true. When those crucial words are spoken. Fear, denial, and heartbreak are too much to absorb. Arckon, a knight in shining armor, swoops down and restores some of her dignity.
Having watched from above his only thoughts are of Ella. The unexpected twists and turns in this story become apparent when Ella realizes that just maybe this all happened for a reason.....her perfect mate with a happily ever after. 💜💜💜
About to be married and an “I object” fills the air. After stating her case, the groom chases after the woman objecting. A broken heel has Ella about to face-plant, when a blue-skinned alien with wings swoops in and carries her away from the embarrassment.
Arckon offers to be her fake boyfriend. But feelings arise that make the fake idea quite erroneous. A continuation of the cruise, has both couples running into each other. A delightful and romantic alien romance.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
This is another really fun read by this writing duo and I loved how Ella and Arckon's romance unfolded. I can't even imagine having someone protest my wedding during the ceremony but poor Ella gets all the feels from that experience, including a dearth of self confidence. Arckon literally swoops in to save her and ends up helping her recover from her shock...and fall in love ;D This is a great read, with wonderful characters and fab world building. Their excursion dates were awesome and I wish they weren't all fiction ;P Good fun!
Arckon & Ella were very likable characters. They are both sweet, kindhearted & loving. Their part of the story was really good.
I despised Ella's almost husband, Darrell, who jilted her at the alter to run after his horrific mistress, Bethany. Darrell was only after Ella's inheritance & the authors actually let him steal a huge chunk of it. It's not okay, absolutely not okay.
I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll say, for the most part, it was a quick & fun read. I could have done without the angst.
Darrell deserves pain, I liked both Ella and Arckon's characters right from the start. They are both two lonely souls who dream of love and happiness. The way he swoops in to save her is so romantic, I loved the way their romance grew. What I didn't like? That Darrell and Bethany got over on her, and wondering how she never really saw him before the incident. I'll still read whatever this duo writes, both collectively and individually, but this antagonist was a little bit too antagonistic with no penalty, still a juicy story though!
When Ella's wedding is derailed an unexpected hero swoops in, gathers her tattered and frayed nerves, and helps her pull herself back together and face her shattered expectations and she tries to not just get back on her feet, but paint a new picture of what her future will look like.
This done in one kindle unlimited quick read is laugh out loud fun, with a cruise to fantastic spots with fascinating shore excursions. As vacation flings go, this is definitely one for the books!
This was a a good one about trust. Ella is standing at the altar about to marry when the wedding is interrupted by her almost husband’s ex. Not only is she saved from marrying the douchebag, but an alien hunk with wings scoops her up and carries her away when she almost trips on her dress. Arckon saves her in lots of ways and they eventually fall in love. But new love, insecurities and a failure to communicate get in the way. It takes a clever Ella and a ballgame for these two to get their hard-won HEA! I truly enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed this love story. A pack of shifters are being hunted by the fae. the leader is trying to lead them away only to fall into a wolf trap. His only hope? A human woman who is more than she seems. I love Margo Bond Collins stories and haven't read one that wasn't good yet. This story is above her other stories in my opinion. I loved it. It has a happily ever after and is easy to read. I couldn't put it down once I started. I would highly recommend it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ella has planned the perfect destination wedding on the Jeweled Empress. Where better to get married than in space! Unfortunately, her fiancé also brought along his “girlfriend”. Saved from total humiliation and a faceplant in front of all the guests, Arckon sweeps in and flies her to safety. These two are so adorable together and soon friendship turns into much more. But a misunderstanding threatens everything once again. Will Ella ever get her HEA? Excellent book!
I loved this installment of this new series. My favorite thing about alien romance stories is when the authors make them regular people who happen to be aliens. I loved that Arckon was totally into his sport team and didn't really want to share his shirt, but ended up doing so because he is truly a super nice guy at heart. This one really is too good to be true, don't ask me how this boy was single lol great read and I would like to order up one blue angel please
There is no doubt that I am going to like this book, written by two of my favorite authors. Is it too much to ask for another epilogue. I did not get enough of their love story and now another joy is added to their lives.
I loved the story, though it might have started as a rescue, of sorts, it became real too fast for our MCs but it was the very thing that made them happy. I had a great time in my mind taking the tour with them.
Wow, another amazing space cruise adventure. I loved Arckon and Ella's romance it was so sweet and beautiful. I loved how these two met and the beauty of their sweet and super hot romance. Talk about two people truly meant for each other and to meet the way they did. This book is super romantic. Best of all, it has an amazing HEA. Be sure to pick up a copy, I know you will love just as much as I did.
When winged Arckon swoops down to snatch up Ella after her fiancé leaves her at the altar to run off with his girlfriend, neither of them know they’re the best thing that ever happened to each other. He joins her on the honeymoon excursions she planned for herself and the deadbeat fiancée that jilted her. Despite her ex and his girlfriend lingering and tossing them dirty looks, Ella and Arckon have a blast together!
