Kelly Greene has spent her adult life using her psychic abilities to protect the weak and defenseless, but this time she rescues a brainwashed, amnesiac, werewolf assassin. Can Kelly trust him to be the good man that her heart desires and her body craves, or will putting her faith in him risk all that she holds dear? Saxxon exists in a world of hate, but he dreams of another life, where he can be free of the cruel men, who use his magical powers to commit atrocities against humanity. A generous woman offers him the chance to make his dreams reality, if only he’s strong enough to overcome fear, addiction, and an enemy that will stop at nothing to reclaim their favorite assassin. How can he ask for love and acceptance, when he has been the tool for evil for so long? Will Kelly’s love become a source of great strength, or his most devastating weakness?

L. Shannon, the author, came into existence in June of 2004. The L. Shannon novels have expanded to fill an entire world with paranormal wonders including Valàfrn werewolves, Tascryn demons, blood-sucking vampires, sexy selkies and many, many more. Be careful if you choose to enter Shannon’s hunk-filled world. You may never wish to leave…

In the time Shannon doesn’t spend writing, she’s kept busy by bothering her super supportive husband, showing dogs, gardening and watching over her Butterfly Koi ponds. You can learn more about her writing and her life at www.lshannon.net.

Saxxon is on a mission to hunt down his brother and bring him back, the only thing that matters to him is the mission. He doesn't remember much except that if he doesn't complete the mission there will be pain and he doesn't want pain.

Kelly has psychic abilities and helps the police find missing kids but when she can't seem to find the most recent kidnapped child she has to resort to doing something she hates doing, getting inside the mind of the kidnapper to get some clue as to where the child is. But this kidnapper is different, he's in pain and his mind is all jumbled up. Once she locates the child, she finds herself in danger from not only the kidnapper but from Saxxon too. She tells Saxxon that she can help him and he wants to believe her but the mission comes before anything. When the kidnapper calls Saxxon, brother it seems to dislodge something in his mind and stuns him long enough for the kidnapper to shoot him so he can get away.

Saxxon finds himself in danger not only from being shot but also from those who sent him on the mission and he needs to find a place to hide for a while so he hides in Kelly's car since he almost felt safe with her for some reason. Kelly helps him to a motel room, where he starts to tell her a little about his life. It becomes quite apparent that someone or some group has been holding him hostage, experimenting on him and has him addicted to the drug he has with him. He knows he's dangerous so he tells her how to stop him if he loses his mind and attacks her but she doesn't believe it will come to that.

As more of the drug leaves his body and he starts to remember who and what he is, he knows others will be sent after him to bring him back. Kelly is determined not to let that happen to she calls a friend that helps them. The rest of the book was an action packed ride where they are on the run for their lives as very dangerous people are after them and will do anything to get Saxxon back.

The romance between Saxxon and Kelly was a slow burn as they are on the run but it was definitely great between them. She really saved his life and takes the news that he's a shifter pretty well considering everything they are going through.

This was such a fun book to read.

Saxxon and Kelly. Nice dust up of a typical shifter romance. Saxxon starts out as Samuel, a victim of experimentation where he is drugged with Silvertide and turned into an assassin. Kelly is psychic and finds missing children for the police. On a mission, she runs into Saxxon and helps him escape where they go on the run. While on the run they discover their attraction and call in for help in the form of an eclectic group of warriors who help Kelly free Saxxon and rescue her later in the story kidnapped son. Don't want to give away any spoilers. It will interesting to read the next two in the series where Saxxon's brothers become the MMC's. The writing was well done. I was confused by the title thinking cat shifters but they weren't. The MFC was a strong character throughout and did way more than support her man. Good job L. Shannon. Saxxon on the other hand, although he had to overcome a lifetime of programming, could have laid off the self deprecation towards the end of the book and put those balls he carries into being the man he should be. I will read more of L. Shannon.

his was interesting book. It was not just about shifter, it had vampires and demons. Saxxon is on a mission to find his brother (they are both wolf shifters) back to the organization. Saxxon's brother bit his hard and he needed help. He crawled to Kelly's car and his in the back seat. Kelly who has psychic abilities helps the police in finding kidnapped children. Kelly finally realizes that there is a man in the backseat and is bleeding all over her car. Saxxon refuses to go to the hospital or see a doctor, so Kelly takes him to a motel. Their story continues from there. The story was good but there where a lot of characters which made is hard to follow sometimes.

This book was good until about 75-80% through then became very disjointed. To many character threads. I guess we’re supposed to know who all the characters are and their stories? I went to see if there were other book series I should have read first but all I seen was many stand alone stories.
It became less about Saxxon and Kelly to so very many other characters that were brought in. There has to be a series before this one I just can’t find it. Should have tried to find a book order first for sure.

A Good Read

This is definitely a different take on the typical shifter romance stories available. It's a action packed story with shifters, vampires, demons... Oh yeah, and Nazi mad scientists. It's definitely a entertaining read. The characters are unique and interesting. It's a good choice for fans of Supernatural, Fantasy Fiction, Age-Gap Romance and Fated Mates Romance stories, as well as Crime Fiction and Action stories.

It's fine

There are spots where the formatting gets squirrelly, but they don't distract too much. A good editor probably should have had a go, but a they're quite expensive, I can understand why not.

Overall, a worked obviously based on previous series. Solid characters, sexy time, and a good story.

It's not perfect, but it's heaps and bounds better than other books of hers I've read. Some of the dialogue felt a little stiff, and the relationship was way too instant for it to feel real, but there's action, there's spice and the characters have some dimension. The writing still needs some polishing, but I'm curious to see what happens to these people.

Great read! The emotional connection between the h/h grows from an unlikely friendship into the deep commitment of mates who have an intense connection both in and out of bed. Their sexual encounters capture all the chemistry and emotion driving them. However, as their bond deepens, a very real menace stalks them and threatens to destroy their newfound relationship. The author builds the suspense nicely into the plot and keeps the pacing consistent and quick. I never knew exactly where the story was going to go. The secondary characters draw nicely on other books by L. Shannon and enliven the story with humor and conflict. The climax is well written and has this reader anxiously looking for the next in the series.
