New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde’s delightful Twilight, Texas, series continues with this sparkling Christmas novel. A reality TV show producer returns to her hometown of Twilight in this lovers reunited story filled with holiday spirit.
She was the one who got away…
Noelle Curry has returned to Twilight to plan the most spectacular double wedding the town has ever seen—and do it on national television. But the woman known as “The Wedding Whisperer” is knocked speechless when she notices her teenage crush, Gil Thomas, is about to plunge into icy cold water wearing nothing more than a pair of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer swim trunks. He is the sexiest guy participating in the annual polar bear plunge and seeing him pushes all thoughts of white lace and rose blossoms right out of her mind.
He was the man who decided to stay…
Single dad Gil doesn’t regret giving up his dreams of big-city singing stardom for small-town life. But seeing Noelle—who’s blossomed from the once-gawky teenager to West Coast beauty—has him thinking of days—and nights—a whole lot hotter than his plunge in the lake. And even though he knows she’ll be heading out as soon as her work is finished, he can’t help hoping the magic of Christmas in Twilight will get her to change her mind and stay in town—and by his side—forever.
Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.
She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.
Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.
She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.
Noelle Curry returns to Twilight, Texas as a wedding planner for a pair of twins. Noelle is known as the wedding whisperer, and the twins won her services as part of a TV show promotional. Noelle used to visit Twilight as a child when her grandparents lived there. Her teen crush was Gil Thomas who was an older neighbor boy. He loved riding in rodeos and playing music. Now he is a widow with a young daughter. The attraction is there. But Noelle is leery of commitment after watching the many marriages of her mother.
This is the 14th of the Twilight, Texas series but can stand alone. I’ve read the last few of these holiday stories. If you are a Wilde fan you won't be disappointed. I like the story. It is straightforward, and without big drama. The dialogue can fall into cheesy occasionally. And the child fell into a mix of acting both younger and older than her age. Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving an honest review. (3.5 Stars)
Noelle Curry is returning to Twilight to direct a wedding for twins marrying twins. If she pulls it off, she will set to go with her company. Her grandparents lived in Twilight, and she always loved coming to visit. They are gone now, and she hasn't been back in years. She had a crush on Gil Thomas the older boy across the street. Gil Thomas is a single dad with a daughter to raise. His wife died 5 years ago, and he has put all his time into his daughter Josie. When he sees Noelle he is blown away about how stunning she is now. Noelle has always loved the small town and is happy to meet up with old friends and make new friends. When Gil and Noelle decide to have a fling; because he doesn't want his daughter to get her hopes up for a mommy. They both realize that their feelings are real and can they let go of the insecurities to get their HEA.
Noelle did not have the best examples when it came to love and relationships from her parents but that hasn’t deterred her from pursuing her career as a wedding planner. It is this career that leads her back to Twilight, where she shared so many happy memories with her grandparents, to plan a double wedding and also reunites her with the boy who captured her teenage heart, Gil.
Gil gave us his dreams of singing professionally and stayed in Twilight where he got married and became a father. After his wife’s passing his daughter Josie is his only priority but what would be the harm with a little fun with Noelle.
I enjoyed seeing the deepening relationship between Noelle and Gil as despite their insecurities and need to be cautious the feelings between them are undeniable and the future they could have together is worth overcoming all the challenges they are facing.
I received a free copy of, The Christmas Brides of Twilight, by Lori Wilde, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book number 12 in the Twilight, Texas, series. Noelle Curry is back in Twilight to work, they call her the wedding whisper, but when she spots her old crush Gil, all bets are off. What a delightful read, the town of Twilight, Texas is delightful, so is Noelle. I really enjoyed this story.
Twilight is a special place, but especially magical at Christmas time. Noelle Curry has her work cut out for her, planning a wedding for two sets of twins. Add in running into her long ago crush and his precocious daughter, and it's a lot for Noelle to juggle.
But the town of Twilight, along with the Christmas season, work their magic, and Noelle finds the home her heart has been longing for. Sweet, charming, humorous, and uplifting, this is just the thing to put you in the holiday spirit!
*Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy.
To say I’m obsessed with this book would be an understatement.
I loved everything about this book, from the setting, to the characters, to the character development, the plot, the climax... EVERYTHING.
Noelle Curry returns to Twilight, Texas to plan a wedding for two sisters who have won a contest. She was raised by celebrity parents and has lived anything BUT a normal life.
Gil, who’s a young widowed dad, doesn’t have any time for relationships... but when Noelle returns to town after all these years, something in him changes.
Gil and Noelle form a friendship over the next 6 weeks while Noelle is in town and they share some hot and boiling chemistry. Unfortunately, that 6 week timeline comes up quick and they have to decide what they will do.
Do they choose love or do they choose happiness apart from one another?
This was a Hallmark Christmas story with spice. I loved it. Noelle is the Wedding Whisperer hoping to plan two Christmas weddings at one time. Her disbelief in love might be her downfall. How could a wedding planner not believe in love?? Then she sees her highschool crush, Gil. Will sparks fly? Gil is the sweetest cinnamon roll, i just wanted to eat him up. He was just what Noelle needed. I cannot wait to read more by this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
The Christmas Brides of Twilight is book 14 and the final book in the Twilight, Texas series by Lori Wilde and a great ending to the series!
Wedding planner, Noelle Curry comes back to Twilight after years away to plan the wedding of twins marring twins in 6 weeks. She reconnects with Gil, who she secretly crushed on all those years ago…
Christmas weddings, romance, winning the contest, cold feet, insecurities and more will lead to a HEA for all!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Received a free copy from netgallery. I was so happy to be back in Twilight. The story is about Noelle and Gil. Gil is a widower with a young daughter. Noelle is a wedding planner and the daughter of several time divorced parents. She is back in Twilight to plan a double wedding of twins marrying twins. Noelle’s grandparents lived in Twilight and she use to visit and met Gil when she was young and always liked him. Now she’s back and the story unfold for them. I liked the book, and would highly recommend it.
I love Lori Wilde books.I’ve read them for a lot of years.I met her in person in Chicago in 2019.She’s such a kind person. This is the last book in the series which is sad. I highly recommend Lori Wilde books.
It's been awhile since I dove into one of Lori Wilde's books. This one did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried, I avoided reading a page--and then went back and read it anyways. It made for a truly enjoyable evening. Loved the main characters. The struggles were believable and the story was fun. Highly recommend.

What a lovely story! Small town, double wedding with double twins. Love is in the air. Noelle is back in the small town her grandparents had lived in. The teenage crush is still in town too. But Noelle has a wedding to plan. Her mom is a pain. The bride's mom is just a bit nasty. and a tattle tale. Stir it all together for a wonderful holiday story. Loved it!
If I could give zero stars I would. ✨ My book group and I picked this up at a holiday event at our local book store, not because any of us were jumping up and down for it, but to be supportive of a local author. She also went out of her way before any of us purchased it, to find our group and make conversation. We told her our fav books/what we were reading, and blah blah. We knew obviously tastes were diff, but whos isn’t? Ya know? Lo and behold 3 days later she POST ON HER VERIFIED FB “went to a book signing the other day and a group of 30 something’s were in the back discussing mafia romance, they were obsessed. I don’t get it. I volunteered at a DV shelter….” (Look up the rest on her fb 12/14) wowwwww. How ugly. Rude and uncalled for. We chatted it up with you Lori, we bought multiple copies of your books, Lori. And you still chose to publicly shame our taste in books? Tacky. ON TO THE ACTUAL BOOK- Outdated. Like a hallmark movie my gma made me watch when I was 12. But honestly my gma would’ve probably found this book boring. PG 207 - “More” she begged, she was panting. She was barely able to speak. “Easy dear heart.” He said. He sounded so wonderfully old fashioned ——
Are you for real right now?? Okay I guess if your target audience is solely nursing home residents. Never again will I support you, Lori, and I hope anyone who sees this questions their support of you as well ✨
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity.
The Christmas Brides of Twilight by Lori Wilde is the latest tale in her Twilight,Texas series. Noelle Curry is known as "The Wedding Whisperer". She returns to Twilight to coordinate a double wedding between identical twin sisters who are marrying identical twin brothers.
The weddings are being paid for by The Tie, a media and technology company that sponsored an essay contest. Noelle knows that this is her chance to become well-known as a wedding planner. She will be working with Gil Thomas, the owner of the reception venue. Gil just happens to be the guy she had a huge crush on when she was fifteen.
I liked the book, it was light and amusing. The problems encountered with the wedding were resolved and the happily ever after ending didn't disappoint.
What does the child of a 4 times divorced actress and a 3 times divorced dad grow up to be? A wedding planner of course! Noelle is so focused and organized, and has been around weddings all her life, so it’s the obvious choice!
Now getting the chance to go to where her grandparents lived, see the boy she had a crush on all grown up, and make a name for herself, I mean, don’t we all want to have this? And she’s going to one of those towns that seems right out of a Hallmark movie! All she has to do is plan a wedding for a set of twins marrying twins… ugh, as the mom of twins, no thanks!!!
Now, I have to tell you, single daddy (yup) Gil kind of makes up for the Mother of the Brideszilla! These 2 sure have some chemistry! And I love their misunderstandings! Honestly, there are times I just wanted to lock them in a closet.
With its engaging plot, relatable characters, and the enchanting allure of the holiday season, The Christmas Brides of Twilight is a captivating read that will leave readers feeling uplifted and inspired.
Good read, as usual with Lori Wilde she always entertained with a great love story. Noelle Curry is a successful wedding planner but when she takes on identical twins getting married to identical twins. This endeaver could cement her carrier or ruin it if it fails. Noelle is excited to return to a place she has such warm memories of, including the boy she had such a crush on. Getting there she finds out he's a widower with a young child could fate be bringing her another chance or is it too scary to really give her heart again. Thank you NetGalley and Publishers HarperCollins I definitely recommend this book.
I requested to read and review this book for free from Harper Collins Publishing. This was a great story about love, forgiveness, belief in yourself and others. This book has drama and a little bit of mystery. Can be read anywhere but by a mature reader. Noelle hasn't had the best role models for love. Can someone who doesn't believe in love change their mind? Or does the example she had show her real love doesn't exist. Gil thought he had love but was it actually more lust? Can things from our past shape our future? Do superstition exist? Does true love exist? There are no guarantees in life but would you want to take the leap or play it safe?
A Christmas romance with a double wedding. What's not to love? Some drama, some laughs, and lots of Christmas cheer. Nothing too deep makes this the perfect Christmas romance. Can be read stand alone.
I enjoyed this book It was heartwarming and romantic, It covered the topic of bullying very well. I loved the character Josie. I thought she was very sweet. I am grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
From the first page, I was drawn in by Noelle and Gil. It was magical, healing and steamy. The town of Twilight would have Scrooge loving Christmas. What a better place to find love.
The Christmas Brides of Twilight by Lori Wilde is another example of what we’ve come to expect from Wilde: a fun and satisfying cowboy romance. Noelle Curry hadn’t exactly grown up in Twilight, Texas, but she had spent considerable time there with her grandparents. Her own parents, both stars in their own right, had never had time to be parents. As a child and a young teen, Noelle had had a crush on her across-the-street neighbor, Gil Thomas. Who should be the first person she saw in Twilight, but Gil himself, stripping down to dash into the water as part of the local Santa Claus Polar Plunge. My, he had grown up nicely. Noelle was now a wedding planner of some renown, due in part to her parents’ fame, but she was about to make it big on her own. She was the wedding planner for a set of twins marrying another set of twins, having won a nationwide contest sponsored by The Tie, a major mover in the industry. If she could pull this off, she would be all set, but the mother of twin brides turned out to be even more intimidating and opinionated than the normal bride’s mother. Also, it turned out Gil Thomas lived in a cottage at the same B & B Noelle was staying at. Both convenient and inconvenient. But, it turned out he was widowed with a small daughter. His sister owned the B & B.
Noelle was a terrific character, scarred by having grown up with parents who were too self-centered to care. Thank God for her grandparents. She had scars, plenty of them, the worst being her trust that people would not leave her. She was a warm and friendly person who did her job well, though. Gil had been a wannabe country star and got entangled in an ill-advised marriage. Maybe they could have made something of it, maybe not, but it had been cut short when Tammy-Jo died, along with her parents, in a plane crash. But, he had Josie, his seven-year-old who felt the lack of a mother keenly. The three of them, plus the wedding party, made this an absolutely fun read. The characters were real, the situation was not quite as real, but close, and so much of it harkened back to people we all know. It was a wonderful Christmas read!
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of The Christmas Brides of Twilight by Avon and Harper Voyager, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #AvonAndHarperVoyager #LoriWilde #TheChristmasBridesOfTwilight
The Christmas Brides of Twilight is the fourteenth book in the Twilight, Texas series by author Lori Wilde, and it was nice to be back even though I have a few books in this series to catch up on.
The story had a good flow and a fast pace with all things related to the holidays and Christmas. There are also a lot of wedding preparations since there will be a double wedding with twins marrying twins. The couples won a contest they entered, and Noelle became their wedding planner. Noelle is also known as “The Wedding Whisperer” since she handles all problems and people relating to weddings.
Noelle has a history in Twilight since she spent holidays and vacations with her grandparents, which are some of her happiest memories. Her parents are both stars with multiple marriages and no time for her. But when her mom calls, she needs to be available!
Noelle reconnects with people and families she used to know in this small town, and Gil is no exception. She had a crush on Gil as a teen, and it hasn’t gone away. There’s a mutual attraction, but he’s a widower with a five-year-old daughter, so things are definitely sticky on that front. There were a few steps forward and then even more back as they tried to figure out if this would be a holiday fling for the weeks she was in town or if it could be more.
Several stories are woven nicely together and, in some instances, unexpected connections. There are beautiful descriptions of the decorations and activities and lots of reminisces along with some mean girl moments and bullying. There are some steamy moments, too. There is closure with a happily ever after that takes place a year later. It was beautifully scripted, but I felt we rushed from the end of the story to the epilogue.
Lori Wilde is an author whose books I enjoy, reminiscent of Susan Mallery, Susan Wiggs, Jill Shalvis, and other contemporary romance authors. They always leave me with a feel-good feeling!
The Christmas Brides of Twilight is a contemporary holiday read that filled me with more holiday spirit than I expected, along with happiness, romance, and love.
This is a series that I've really enjoyed reading. The stories ae always comfort reads for me. I just feel good for reading them. For some reason I love stories where you've fallen in love with a boy then years later you get to meet him again. I think we all can relate to having that one guy in our lives that when we were much younger, way too young to make adult decisions, that we had the biggest crush on that we still wonder, "what if?"
That's kind of this story. Noelle fell for Gil when she was a young girl and she never for a minute thought he'd remember her years ago. My favorite part is that he did indeed remember her.
You'll feel for Noelle her life hasn't always filled with love. Her favorite time in life was being in Twilight with her grandparents and dreaming of Gil. Sadly, she didn't have the best parents and I think that shaped her adult life. She was a closed off and didn't even notice it. If anyone deserves love, it's Noelle.
Gil is my favorite kind of hero, the single dad. For me there is nothing sexier than a man whose kids are their first loves. He's such a good daddy and it shows in his every action. He always puts his daughter first. Maybe too much so. He at times uses her not to take chances.
As a couple these two works. They love each other and Noelle adores his daughter which is a plus. You'll love how Noelle works at doing her job and how Gil is there having her back. I also enjoyed her reacquainting herself with the people she knew in town when she was a kid. It really seemed like home. This is a wonderful holiday story that you'll enjoy this upcoming season.
I love Lori Wilde and this one is no exception to her great writing. I have a list of favorite authors that I look forward to with their Christmas books and Lori Wilde is one of them. Her characters are so relatable and she gives you that hometown Christmas feeling with her book.
Noelle Curry is headed back to her hometown to orchestrate the weddings of the year with her client twins that are getting married at Christmas time. Noelle is always leery about going back home and seeing her high school crush but she sure doesn't have to wait long this time to run into him. Gil Thomas is participating in the Polar plunge the same day that Noelle is getting into town.
When Noelle sees Gil in his reindeer swim trunks she knows that she has to get a closer look so she has her taxi pull over and she makes her way down to the water where she can get a clear view. Noelle thinks that she is wasting her time and that Gil will have no time for her because he is a single dad that is focused on only his daughter. The flirting that takes place in this book is so cute and realistic that it leave you say "AAAWWWW!!"
As Noelle starts planning everything for the twin's wedding, she finds herself in close contact with Gil on several occasions. Gil is always a gentleman and makes sure he helps Noelle in every way that he can. You can tell that the high school crushes never went away, just one Noelle moving to a different state,
I know you will enjoy this story as I did and fall in love with the characters and town. You will be left longing for more from Lori Wilde and the characters in this book. I promise you won't be upset that you took the time to read this one!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to Net Galley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. Great read!
Noelle returns to Twilight, Texas to plan the dream wedding for the Buckhorn twins. She plans to swoop into town, plan the wedding, and leave but the universe had a different plan for her. Gil is focused on running his business and raising his young daughter but maybe it's time to find love again. The two of them have some hurdles to overcome before they have a chance at happily ever after. Will they find lasting love or heartbreak?
Noelle is an interesting character. She is successful but she feels the weight of being the daughter of two very famous people. I liked how the author gave Noelle a chance to grow and learn to believe in herself. It felt very natural and real life how she had to work through both personal growth and the wedding planning. I had to laugh out loud as she learned that she was considered cursed! Gil is content in his life so his realization that he was interested in pursuing a relationship with Noelle was a surprise to him. The author did a good job showing how he balanced his attraction to Noelle with his very busy life. He was so sweet with how he pursued Noelle even before he realized he was interested! I thought the addition of Gil's daughter was good and necessary. She acts like a typical little kid and does so silly and impulsive things. The author created some really good side characters that added some much-needed balance to the story. There is no bad guy in this story.
This is a small-town love story about two people who knew each other when they were younger but this is not a second chance romance. If you like sweet love stories chock full of little teasers that don't go anywhere (eg initials carved into a tree that only one of them knows about) and lots of kindness, give this a try. I will read more from this author in the future.
The Christmas Brides of Twilight is the sixteenth novel in Lori Wilde’s Twilight, Texas series. As a child Noelle Curry, daughter of Hollywood royalty, would spend summers and holidays in Twilight with her beloved maternal grandparents. These were some of the happiest and most memorable times of her childhood. As a part of The Tie reality show contest for special weddings, Noelle had been chosen to plan and orchestrate a special wedding back in Twilight where two sets of twins were marrying in a Christmas Eve wedding.
Noelle was very surprised to encounter her teenage crush, Gil Thomas. She was even more surprised to learn that he was the owner of the event facility where the wedding reception was to be held. Gil was equally surprised to see the younger lady who had clearly crushed on him, but then the several years difference in age was an insurmountable obstacle back then. And now here she is, with an apartment accommodation at his sister’s bed and breakfast where he and his daughter live in a cottage on the grounds. Their paths intersect so often it’s as though it were being orchestrated. With two brides and two grooms to please, events going awry, and a demanding long distance mother, Noelle has more balls in the air than she can easily juggle.
This is a fun read, with interesting characters and a perfect little town in Texas. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!
I won this book through GoodReads First Read program.
This is the 14th book from the Twilight, Texas series. It is much like the 13 books that preceded it in the series. Two young people, who knew each other when they were much younger, get together in Twilight, Texas, which is a fictional town close to the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. There are also 2-3 chapters of softcore porn thrown in to satisfy Wilde's readers.
In this book, Noelle Curry, the child of a couple of movie stars who go through spouses very quickly, comes back to Twilight, Texas as a wedding planner. Noelle has agreed, with a wedding planning company, to plan the wedding of one set of twins to another. This is Noelle's chance to make it big on her own, not in her parent's name. Noelle used to come to Twilight in the summers to stay with her grandparents but she hasn't been back for 13 years.
When Noelle arrives she sees Gil Thomas, and others, participating in the polar plunge, which is one of the many Twilight traditions. Noelle last saw Gil 13 years ago when she had a crush on him and he kind of put up with her. Gil has a 7-year-old girl named Josie who he thinks the world of. Gil's wife and in-laws were killed in a plane crash five years ago.
Of course, Noelle and Gil reunite but deal with the problems of Noelle's planned exit to LA following the wedding, and Gil's obsession with his daughter and being a single dad.
