Effectively a glorified academic thesis rather than an engaging work of non-fiction, with some interesting information to be gleaned despite it being presented in the most boring way possible. Overall, pretty dry, huh HOH!
A sort book tracing the history of the use of gunpowder and its influence the shaping of the modern world. Inevitably it's a bit of a gallop through the history of warfare, but it's very interesting.
A decently written and well researched piece, full of stuff you would never have thought or never want to know about gunpowder. Not too bad for historical text, but not thrilling.
