When I began reading “Demons & Spiritual Warfare”, my first thought was “sheesh, Ron Phillips is smart!” Then the next thought was, “every single Christian needs to read this!” This book is chock full of information, details, and wisdom. I am reading it for the second time and have already began finding details that I didn’t ingest the first go round. I have a feeling if I read it a third time, the same thing would happen again.

Ron Phillips has brought to light many details that have been misunderstood by the greater majority of Christians concerning who Satan is, the fall of Satan and his followers, and the consequential effect on this earth. Satan does not live in hell at the moment, he is ruling on this earth seeking those who he can take to hell with him. His fall caused a cataclysmic destruction of earth. God has since recreated earth and placed man here to have dominion. Satan, as the serpent, took that dominion away from man through the fall of Adam and Eve. Now man has to retake back everything Satan has stolen. The good news is that the victory has already been won; we just have to enforce it.

One of the best spiritual warfare books I have read. It is imminently readable especially for the beginner. It does not read like a text book but rather a guide to learning how to help intercede in the battle against satan and his minions in our everyday life. North America is one of the places where demonic spirits are not really a part of basic beliefs, they are treated like cartoon characters instead of the very powerful ex-angels that they in reality are. We need to be more careful of how we guard ourselves and our minds. This book is an excellent guide at helping to define the areas where evil spirits like to insinuate themselves and take up residence, it also has an effective battle plan to defeat them and then prevent them from coming back to reclaim their home and bring along friends. Definitely a must a read.

This book is a study guide to help the Christian to be able to discover the demons of the world and how to combat them. The author has some interesting theories about what demons are and what type of damage they can cause that you would never think about. Some of the issues that he states are caused by demonic influence is more complicated than they are being caused by the devil.

I’ll start by saying there were many good points. There was a lot of truth, and I believe that Christians today do too often overlook the spiritual realm and don’t take warfare seriously. With that said, I do have a couple problems with the book that kept me from giving it a higher rating:
1. PROOF TEXTING. There were so so many times where I read a cited passage and could not figure out how in the WORLD it proved the authors point. And that’s aside from the fact that many of them were taken out of context. This is the main reason this book gets two stars from me.
2. The writing style was a bit hard to follow for me and it kinda jumped all over the place. I had a lot of trouble figuring out what exactly his point was sometimes or how to flesh any of this out practically.
3. He may have made the error of giving TOO much credit to spiritual issues, to the neglect of physical causes for issues like depression, sickness, etc.

Just my thoughts. Not a bad book, but could have been much improved by sticking to what scripture actually says about demonic oppression rather than reading into it so often.

I trad this book as part of a women’s Christian book club and really enjoyed it. Being raised in a spirit filled home I was familiar with a lot of the concepts but it good to be reminded of them. Others were new ideas that gave me food for thought. I recommend this book as a book that reveals the strategy of the enemy and what to do about it.

Awesome book! I loved it and it puts things in perspective on how truly unaware we are as individuals! But when you get into the habit of educating yourself, your spirit of discernment can pick up on those things so much quicker because you catch the attack before it hits or at its most subtle state and you are able to counter it! Ohhh, I love God and the way he reveals things to me!!!!!

This is an excellent book but I must say that I don't agree with him on the "gap theory".
