As a young college student, Polly Hamp found herself taking off her clothes for men and money. But like the other ninety-five percent in the American sex industry, she didn't find herself there by accident. Nothing happens in a vacuum. Cherished is the story of a young girl, raped in a bathtub at the tender age of seven. It's the story of a teenager, finding herself in an abortion clinic. It's the story of a young wife and mother, masking her pain in a bottle. But more than that, it's the story of how a very real enemy waged a very real war against this incredible woman from the time she was very small. It's the story of how the lies he spoke to her became her truths, leading her into the darkest of places and the most difficult of times. And it's a story of a woman and her Savior. It's the story of how He rescues and saves, pulling us out of the miry pit in which we all find ourselves. It's a story of healing and wholeness, truth and discovery. It's a story of God's voice. It's the story of a woman becoming all that she was created to be. Cherished. The Third Edition of Cherished offers not only Polly's updated story but new tools that have helped Polly and those she has helped as a Trauma Recovery Coach. This edition also includes new diagrams of the Anatomy of a Stronghold and teachings on the Four Levels of the Brain.
WOW! Polly’s story is such an inspiration to keep going no matter your past, to find your worth in the One who made you! Don’t let the past define you, let your Creator define you! ❤️
These are the types of books that hit to the core, and sometimes it’s not comfortable, but in the end, it’s always good.
I’m so grateful for the men and women who have enough courage to share their vulnerability through their stories in the hopes and pursuit of showing that it is true….. everyone can find healing!
I would recommend to my fellow ladies not to wear any mascara as I found myself tearing up at times and balling at others.
I saw myself in much of this story and through the guides started to remember some painful things that have been hidden, thank you, Lord. And Lord for this next part I will need you!
Thank you, Polly. As I mentioned earlier “I think you know” and you do! This has been such a blessing to read and reflect upon! May the Lord bless and keep you always
This book speaks to the very fear of being known. We all have a desire to be known but when it hits the fear of being known, we hide and compartmentalize our life. Polly does an amazing job inviting you to be free to be seen. Her writing is transparent and vulnerable in ways you can relate and understand, regardless if you have had the same experience as her. If you have experienced any sexual abuse or trauma in your life, this book is full of hope and redemption. This is Polly's path to wholeness 10/10
