Omega Island: Senta's Heat

Rate this book
Can an older omega and an abused younger alpha help each other learn to trust again?

Senta, the omega billionaire owner of Omega Island, has not felt the fire of a heat in two long years. Still in his thirties, he had gone through “the change” early in life. But one night, painful pre-heat symptoms overwhelm him. He vows that when his heat finally arrives, he will endure it alone.

That is, until he meets Raimi, an alpha guest he has allowed to stay on the rehab/resort.

Raimi just got out of a two-year abusive alpha/alpha relationship with a man who dominated him and denied him knotting and orgasms. He doesn’t even know if he can perform as a true alpha anymore.

The two are immediately attracted to each other, but barely have time to develop trust and rapport before Senta goes into full heat.

This is a story of healing and love, proving that even the loneliest of hearts can find warmth, comfort and ecstasy in each other’s arms.

MM romance, tropical setting, billionaire, older omega/younger alpha, healing, heat, knotting, and a wedding! Definite HEA! (There is no mpreg in this book due to infertility.)

Omega Island: Senta's heat is a sweet romance between Senta, a rich omega in his thirties who has dedicated his life to helping other omegas and Raimi, a younger alpha who has just gotten away from an abusive relationship with another alpha.
First of all I have to say that I absolutely adore the author's writing style. It's so beautiful, it's like poetry.
The relationship between Senta and Raimi develops fast but it doesn't feel rushed. It's obvious those two belong together. I loved how well they communicated and talked about their feelings and their fears. It's just so refreshing to read a book were the characters are so open and honest. And the way they took care of each other warmed my heart. Hurt/comfort is one of my favorite tropes.
It was a beautiful book and I really enjoyed reading it.

I had been waiting for Senta's story ever since I started the Omega Island series. Once again, the attraction between the 2 MCs, Senta and Raimi, flew off the pages. I loved Raimi's care of Senta even after everything he had to go through with his abusing ex, and how Senta was able to let go of the control he usually has and let himself being cared for. Not my favourite in the series but definitely worth a read.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

Overall Opinion:
From the very first book, I was invested in Senta's character and was really hoping he would get a book of his own. This one was about Senta and Raimi and was just as delightful as the previous books. Raimi and Senta are both weighed down by their own baggage and feel incapable of finding love again, forever dancing around their feelings for another and feeling like forever imposing upon the other. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each character individually and as a couple, and witnessing them find their person was so sweet. Wendy is amazing at writing short omegaverse and this one clearly shows it!

Omega Island: Senta’s Heat is part of the ‘Omega Island’ series. The series isn’t numbered, but this would be Book Four. It stars Senta, the billionaire owner and director of Omega Island, and Raimi, an Alpha guest to the island. This is told in first person from Senta and Raimi’s povs.

First the cover. All the covers have the same colors and feel to them, so this matches the others in the series. I’d say the cover model is a pretty close match to Senta, except I don’t remember reading the sides of his hair being that closely shaven.

I don’t see a blurb yet for this story on Goodreads so I’ll give a bit of an overview. Senta is the owner of Omega Island, which is run to help omegas recover from various problems, be they physical, emotional, or mental. Senta hasn’t had a heat in two years, having gone through the change early in life. But for some reason his heat has re-activated, just when an Alpha, Raimi, is scheduled to stay at the island for rest and recovery. Raimi has run from an abusive situation with his Alpha partner, a partner that forced Raimi to submit as an omega. At first Raimi was okay with the idea since he loved to try new things. But gradually his partner exerted more control and manipulation to get Raimi to obey. Raimi left the relationship with no self-esteem, and no longer behaved like an Alpha, he couldn’t even knot. As a favor to a friend, Senta allows Raimi to visit the island. There begins both Senta and Raimi’s healing.

I’ve read Books Two, Three, and now Four, and I liked this one the most. It had the same dreamlike or ethereal writing style as the other books. It fits the island’s atmosphere as a place of healing and relaxation. There’s a lot of tension in this book, sexual, and emotional. Senta is attracted to Raimi right away, but knows that Raimi has issues. Senta doesn’t want to saddle Raimi with his need for sex because of his heat, which is causing him great pain. Raimi is also attracted to Senta, but doesn’t believe he has anything to offer such an attractive and accomplished omega. No one wants an Alpha who is incapable of mating or knotting. Raimi’s self-esteem is in the pits. Senta tries to fight his desire and need for Raimi, while Raimi is triggered to protect and care for Senta during his heat. The tension between the two is high.

I’d been wondering who the mysterious Senta was in the other books, always cool, calm, and collected, but also distant, with no attachments to anyone. He seemed lonely. And he was, but told himself that his island and the employees were his family and it was enough. But fate wasn’t finished with him yet. Senta couldn’t find an Alpha who was comfortable with a confident and non-submissive omega. They all wanted him to give everything up to follow them, and Senta didn’t want to do that. Raimi, before he met his Alpha partner, loved to travel, and experience everything new. He was open to new ideas and that’s how he got pulled into his submissive relationship with the Alpha, but then it turned toxic. Raimi is quite caring and considerate. He didn’t have any preconceived ideas how omegas or Senta should act. He’s exactly the kind of partner Senta needed, an equal partner who didn’t have the Alpha hangups. Once Raimi understood that Senta really did want him, and it wasn’t just Senta’s heat talking, there were fireworks. Senta and Raimi were perfect for each other and I could believe in them as a couple. It just took them a while to realize it themselves.

I really enjoyed, Omega Island: Senta’s Heat. It has the slow development of Senta and Raimi’s relationship as they both grow, learning about their own problems, needs, and each other. They worked at becoming a mated pair, and I could believe in them as a couple. I’m not sure how the author can top this book in this series, but there’s nothing that indicates this is the last one. I recommend this book to everyone, and give this a solid, 5 Stars.

I received an ARC from the author. I am giving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Omega Island: Senta’s Heat is the 4th book in her Omega Island series. Senta is the owner of the resort on the island that was there to help omegas who are having trouble with their heats. He is a very intuitive and caring man and seeks to give everyone who comes there peace and healing. He also stopped having heats and found out that he had no eggs left, even at his young age. He is sad but determined to keep giving aid to those who need it. Raimi had been in a very abusive relationship with another alpha when he escaped to his friend’s house where he began seeing a therapist to help him. He felt he was broken and wasn’t sure he could be the alpha he used to be and also that he couldn’t believe he had let the abuse go on for so long. His friend was best friend’s with Senta and when he talked to him about Raimi, Senta told him to come to the island to help with his healing. When Raimi arrived he found it very peaceful and he really liked Senta, who returned his feelings. Shortly after that Senta started having hard heat symptoms and couldn’t believe this was happening because they had stopped 2 years ago. He was checked out by the doctor and told nothing was wrong so he went on with running the resort but he knew he was probably going to have a full blown heat sometime soon. Raimi had several pleasant encounters with Senta and found him one day having bad symptoms at a pool and helped him there. Both men did not want to take things further because Raimi wasn’t sure he could help Senta in the ways he needed and Senta didn’t think Raimi was ready for more because he was here for healing from what his ex had done to him. But in the end they couldn’t resist because both of them were care givers and they went to Senta’s house so Raimi could help him with his full blown heat. They shared a lot of love during that time and realized that they meant something to each other and they decided to see if what they had could turn into more. I really enjoyed this story. The characters were well written and showed so much care and tenderness for each other. Raimi had been through the ringer with his ex and needed the calm and healing influence that Senta and the life at the resort could give him. Senta needed to find someone who saw the real him and was willing to assist in all the ways he needed. They both had hurt/comfort issues that were benefitted by the way they acted toward each other. There was also some angst as Raimi’s ex kept trying to contact him and get him back and they needed to decide how much they could help each other without overstepping their boundaries. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading more from Ms. Rathbone.

I was one of the many readers who really wanted Senta to get his own story, and now he finally has one! Senta's character intrigued me from the very first book, I wanted to know what his story would be and if he would get his happy ever after. (Spoiler) He did!

If you've read the earlier books in this series then you would know that Senta us an Omega who owns and runs the Omega Island. It's a place Omega's (and sometimes alpha's) go to try to heal and recover. The island is a healing place and that's exactly why Senta let Raimi come to stay on the island.

Raimi just got out of an abusive Alpha-Alpha relationship, after years of abuse and control he doesn't know which way is up. Once he arrives on the island he slowly starts relaxing, and trusting himself and his instincts more. He eventually starts healing and what, or rather, whom helps him the most is Senta. As soon as they meet these two men are enraptured by each other. These two circle each other, both worried they are pressuring each other into a situation they don't want to be in. Senta's worried he's imposing cause Raimi is on the island to heal and recover. And Raimi is worried about Senta not fully consenting due to his heat.

These two men complement each other so well, ad I really enjoyed reading about how these two both helped the other heal in different ways. It's definitely a faster paced book than others I've read, and while this book features heats, ruts, and alpha's and omegas there is no mpreg. But! There is a marriage and a happily ever after.

Overall it was worth the wait for Senta's story.

This is the fourth book in the series, but you can read these in any order. Senta is the billionaire omega who owns the omega healing resort and the entire island on which it stands. After going through the change of life, he ends up having an unexpected and miraculous last heat. Raimi is an alpha who has been emotionally and physically abused by his alpha partner and needs to heal as he starts over with his life. The arrival of Raimi on the island coincides with Senta’s heat and it is fortuitous that their mutual attraction helps their connection in their steamy undertaking to alleviate Senta’s heat.

I really liked this book. Having read the preceding three books of the series and getting to know Senta as a character, I can say that Senta deserves all the love and affection that Raimi bestowed upon him. Raimi was such a sweet alpha, and I was just heartbroken that a fellow alpha had taken advantage of his sweet, easy-going nature. The connection between the MC’s was genuine and strong from the beginning. They both really saw who the other person was underneath it all, and they both deserved all the love and happiness in the world. Such a beautiful and moving love story. I am so glad they get their HEA.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed this sweet story. Senta and Raimi’s story is a beautiful one full of hope and love. It will pull on your emotions and has you rooting for love to win.
Raimi has left an abusive relationship where his partner took everything away from him even making Raimi feel as if he as no longer and alpha. He comes to Omega Island to heal. Soon Senta and Raimi find themselves with more than just feelings, Senta goes into heat and the two must work together and figure out what they want to strive for.
These two have their work cut out for them but both men are good at heart and truly care for each other. It was nice to see the care and thought that they had for one another. Both men were just what the other needed and helped to heal each other. I liked seeing two work towards a happy ever after as they also work on themselves. I am glad we get to see Senta find love. The author has kept each story in this series fresh and new and keeps pulling me in with every new book. I am eager to see what will happen next in this world.

Senta is the omega billionaire owner of Omega Island and has not had a heat for two years because even though he is in his thirties he went through the change early in life. Then one night he has intense pre-heat symptoms that hit him and he vows to go through it alone. Then he meets Raimi who is a younger alpha that he has allowed to come so he can heal after being in a two-year abusive alpha/alpha relationship that denied him orgasms and knotting so he doubts he could ever be a true alpha ever again. They are both attracted to each other but before they can discuss it Senta goes into full heat.

I enjoyed this story with one abused alpha and an infertile omega who get past their loneliness together and find a love which rises above all of the problems that they are facing. I loved that Raimi was very clear and insistent on consent and that Santa should be comfortable and respected at all times. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse.

Fantastically, delicious! Senta, owner of Omega Island, hasn't had a heat in over 2 years. He thought he went through he 'change' already. He felt he was physically challenged. Raimi, just got out of an abusive Alpha/Alpha relationship with Straten, which left him insecure and doubting himself as an Alpha. Senta's former room mate, Luca asked for a favor for his brother-in-law, Raimi. Out of compassion, Senta allowed Alpha Raimi the opportunity to recover at his sanctuary. They each unconsciously felt an affinity toward each other when they met. When Raimi found Senta in heat distress, decisions needed to be made. Good story of both men doing personal inventories of their lives and who they thought they were. These are two really sweet men. Does Raimi reach out to heal? Does Senta relax and let Raimi in? Great flow. Wonderful insights. I could sit and read about Raimi and Senta all day. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was ok, 3.5 stars though not my favorite of Wendi’s or this series. There was so much back-and-forth when Senta and Raimi first got together that it lacked a little…passion? Love? Affection? Neither was sure whether the other was truly freely choosing them so it felt all a bit too tentative. Senta has always been such a strong person it didn’t feel totally authentic to the character as we’ve come to know him. Maybe that can be ascribed to feeling off-balance physically? Raimi was a bit sad, I’m glad he was able to push through his trauma and recognize the truth of the love in front of him instead of letting that jerk keep messing with him. I thought for a minute that he was going to have to go back to the jerk to get perspective on how truly terrible things were and realize he loved Senta! Glad that didn’t happen! I would still recommend this book, just with a little reservation.

I'm so glad to finally have Senta's story; he is a character that I've been curious about since book 1 and it was definitely worth the wait to see him finally get his very own HEA. I thought he and Raimi were great together and had lots of chemistry. Both were sweet and it was interesting to see Senta as the more confident one for most of the book, taking the lead without pushing too far. Raimi was such a sweetheart who'd clearly been through a lot and I enjoyed seeing him develop his confidence and find someone special. Was this a pretty instant love story? Yes. Did I enjoy reading it though? Also a big yes! If you're a fan of Wendy Rathbone stories and like alpha/omega romances then I'd definitely recommend this book.

A stunning ending to this Omega Island series.
The all-knowing Fate perceived that Senta and Raimi needed each other. Omega Island was established for troubled omegas offering emotional and surrogate support. But what about the island's owner Senta who's reaching forty and hasn't had a heat in years. Fate has heard Senta's pleas for help and sends an abused and seemingly weak alpha, Raimi, to show Senta how much Raimi isn't the fragile alpha he believes himself to be. Each man learns of the special gifts each has to give to the other and in a very satisfying ending their mutual admiration and love exemplify the beauty of this special island. This ARC was a pleasure to read and I'm giving a voluntary review of Ms. Rathbone's book.

Senta's Heat is the fourth (and last??) book in WR's Omega Island series.
Senta's Heat can be read as a standalone, however, as we met Senta in previous books, I would suggest reading the other books.

Senta is the billionaire owner of Omega Island, where omegas with heat problems go for help.
In this book, Raimi, an alpha is a guest of Omega Island.
Since meeting Senta, I have been curious about him and I'm so glad we get his story.
Senta is a caring, nurturing character and the perfect match for Raimi.
Raimi recognises Senta's needs and is happy to step and be the alpha he knows he can be.
MCs are very likeable, and storyline is sweet and smexy.
✅ ruts
✅ heats
✅ knotting
✅ fated mates

Another smexy low angst addition to this series.

This was a fantastic read for me. Having read the first three novels in the series and gotten to know Senta, I can confidently affirm that the character is deserving of Raimi's undying devotion. I felt terrible that another alpha had taken advantage of Raimi's good nature because he was such a kind guy. The MCs' friendship was sincere and solid from the start. They now understood one another for who they truly were, and they were deserving of each other's undying affection and every good thing in life. An absolutely stunning and heartbreaking love story. To put it simply, I am relieved that they find happiness in the end.I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

Hurt/comfort, Alpha/omega

This author is so good at hurt/comfort and Alph/omega stories. Raimi is an Alpha who has been abused. Senta owns an island dedicated to healing omegas, but when his friend asks for a favor, Senta opens the island to Raimis visit.

Senta hasnt had heats in years but just before Raimi arrives, Senta starts having symptoms of a heat.

Raimi is just so abused its awful how downtrodden he is. When you read how badly Straten treated him you can understand his behavior. I'm really happy with the way the author portrayed Raimi's processing and recovery.

I loved the story. Its a light, but not light read, if you can understand that. Meaning easy to read, fast, but the content can trigger those who have been in abusive situations.

Absolutely amazing!

I loved this book! The story of Senta’s and Raimi is filled with healing, caring and a lot of love and is an absolute must read! Raimi will find himself on Senta’s island to heal after leaving an abusive relationship. The relationship that grows between the two is absolutely amazing. The care the two men have for each other is pure and heartfelt and it makes for a wonderful love story. Raimi has faced hardships in the past and lost his way as an alpha but with Senta by his side, he will finally find the alpha he was always meant to be.

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

THIS MADE ME HAPPY

This is a REMARKABLE Book!! After dedicating his life to helping Omega's, Senta finds his path. Senta is a man who offers paradise to others at their most vulnerable time in life. A safe and beautiful place to heal. Raimi is an Alpha in need of special care not normally offered on the Island. Seeing Raimi the first time shows Senta he's made the right decision. This is a beautiful place to visit and it always makes me relax to read the relationships centered here. WENDY RATHBONE has a wonderful way of putting you into her Books. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS OMEGA ISLAND SERIES!!!!!!!!!!

Love & Healing

These two concepts usually orbit each other and work in tandem. I feel this is why Senta & Raimi were drawn together as both provided something the other needed.

Due to the sensitive emotional nature of their story, I am glad Senta's Heat was focused on that. I do like my action and angst but it was not needed here. And as much as I enjoy miraculous mpregs (often found in writings with fertility issues) I was not unhappy with that element in this book. They were enough for each other and that pregnancy, again, was not needed. This is for sure going into my healing comfort reads rotation.

Senta and Raimi ❤️
4 Stars ⭐️

Such a sweet and romantic story. I have wondered about Senta since the beginning of this series and his story couldn't have been any sweeter! I adored this pairing, Raimi was such a beautifully broken character and Senta was his perfect mate with his calm, caring and soothing nature ❤️ from start to finish this story was everything that I had hoped it would be, it's insta-lovey but who cares....it's Omega Island after all, a place where peace, healing and love is found. I'd most definitely recommend especially for fans of this series.

Omega Island works its magic once again. This time, for the hard working owner, Senta. After years of helping omegas with their problems and after he stopped having his own heats altogether, an unexpected heat couldn’t have come at a more inopportune time. Or does fate have the perfect timing once again? Raimi is an alpha that was forced to live as an omega by an abusive boyfriend. He is offered Omega Island as a refuge to heal from his past. Sparks fly between them immediately and they help one another in more ways than one. Their love story was so wonderful, I loved their communication. This is such a great series.

I am drawn to stories where one MC, usually the omega, overcomes mistreatment through the love and care given by the other MC, usually the alpha. Senta’s Heat was a refreshing take on this. It flipped the script, with the omega providing strength to the alpha, at least initially. It was beautiful to see the way they actually comforted and strengthened each other.

Both characters were well written. I adored Raimi from the start. Characters like him tug on my heartstrings. Senta was the perfect mate for him, and together they were HOT!

Senta finally gets his happy ending

Right from the start of this series one of my favorite characters was the guy at the center of the whole thing, Senta. From the cleverness of the name to how he has taken the fortune he inherited and founded and run this center to help omegas who are having problems Wendy Rathbone has come up with a very original character and situation. In this book he finally gets his own happy ending and of course his Alpha is as original as he is. Another terrific one Ms. Rathbone

What a sweet story. Senta and Raimi are just so special together. It's not completely necessary, but I would read this series in order. As I've found with Wendy's other series, her world building and character development are top notch. From Raimi's heart wrenching tale to Senta's running of the island, I felt drawn in and was rooting for these two from beginning to end. Once I picked this one up, I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend reading not only this book but the whole series. I can't wait for Wendy's next release.

There must be something in the air, besides the ocean breeze, that is beneficial to the healing process of the visitors to Omega Island.
Senta, the owner of the island could feel a physical change that he was not expecting to feel again and was able to accept the offer of help from a visiting alpha. Raimi had taken advantage of an offer to get away for a while after an abusive relationship.
This author always brings a narrative that so easily explains the relationship of omegas and alphas.

I can always count on Wendy Rathbone to have an interesting take on alpha/omega relationships, to have crafted a very detailed world and considered all the implications of what it might mean for characters to go into heat and here, how age for one character and abuse for another would impact that and to write characters in need of healing who get wonderful HEAs. That is definitely true here as we have a an age gap story about Senta and Raimi and their journey together. Every book in the Omega Island series has been a winner.
