Simpson surveys the lives of Pound, Eliot, and Williams. I read a lot of biographies of poets and other figures hoping for insights into their work and contexts, but that's such an inefficient slog. I wish I could find 100-page, work-focused biographies like these for every poet in whom I'm interested. Alas, I'll have to settle only for these three right now. Not an enjoyable read, but if you want to learn about the high Modernist movement of the early 20th Century, this is a GREAT introduction. Fast read, too.
