The text is excellent, the illustrations are top notch, the only issue I have is that the color reproductions are only fair to middling. This may be the best written work on the subject, which is not saying much, I took a look around and most of the other books are of similar or older vintage. An interesting art form, its like the high art form of sand castles, lovely but ephemeral.
