I’m writing this 12.5 years after having read this book and raised a SuperPuppy that we recently lost from complications following surgery. This has been the second most painful period of my life and i am now trying to reflect on his little life and how he truly was the best dog we could ever imagine having. Please cherish your new puppy and always be present. Every day together truly is a gift…….
I've been passing out copies of this little booklet for three decades. If you want to train a puppy as a great companion, this "Super Puppy: How to Raise the Best Dog You'll Ever Have!" will provide a great resource in simple language. I've raised and shown Great Danes for 50 years. This helpful booklet has stood the test of time and if every dog owner would take the time to read it, many dogs would never see the inside of a Humane shelter.
Of we are thinking of getting a puppy or already have a dog.... GET THIS BOOK!!! This stuff really does work, it’s only 40 pages long (more like a pamphlet) and it’s such and easy and informative read. I recommend this to all pet owners!
This is a GREAT dog training book. Inexpensive, comprehensive, excellent. I can't recommend it too highly.
I found this book some 15 years ago when I first brought home my new puppy, a new Brittany I named Luna. I'd looked all around at the different dog books and was disappointed. I was ready to dedicate myself to training my new dog, and I wanted a straight-forward, clear book that would help me. When I found Super Puppy, I found what I'd been looking for.
Just two days ago, I said goodbye to Luna. In our 15 years together, she lived almost entirely off-leash, free to explore and love the world. She could do this because she was well-trained, and she was well-trained because I read this book and applied its methods. She had the best life a dog could ever hope to have, and I thank Peter Vollmer for helping me give her that life.
Dogs need attention and exercise. I put "discipline" as part of attention. And I remember that Buddhist saying that "in discipline is freedom." That certainly was true for Luna.
The time to train your dog is when they are a puppy. The benefits--for you and for your dog--will last his/her entire life. This book will help you.
