I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this story due to it surrounding Logan coming home after taking a charge for Justice back when they were in their early 20s. I will say Justice showed devotion to making things right but definitely had to clear up something going on in his new life. I felt the character development went fairly quickly and overall the story was very sweet. Justice did everything he could to make it right and that was nice to see. Logan finding what her happy without the stress was also nice. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of this particular romance scenario but it was an ok sweet romance. I will continue to read the other brothers' books as well.

Justice and Logan were madly in love when they were younger. Logan takes a charge for Justice because he had a promising career as a NBA player. Logan is out after doing 10 years. Justice was waiting for the love of his life to come home while making sure she’s taken care of. Tamia was one dumb bxtch. This was a cute second chance romance. That ending 😳.

2nd chance at love…

This was fast paced but held my attention…Justice and Logan were cute. He should have told his ex that he wasn’t seeing a future with because he really did waste her time. Logan tried to play hard and I am glad that it didn’t take them long to get their stuff together. Justice matured and Logan was still a hot tempered and I am glad Justice helped her understand the growth they both developed and why being the old them wasn’t necessary.

That ending had me like 😱😱😱 I hope it doesn’t take long for the next book in the series to come. Mya I am definitely looking forward to this series, this book was good!

wheww chile!!!

The court definitely did my girl dirty. But Justice; he laid my girl down!!! I really enjoyed their story. I’m ready for King’s now lol. That ending but me nervous. I hope it picks up where it left off and not start all over again.

Second Chance

This was unique. Logan took a bid for Justice because he had suck a promising future in the NBA. He also was providing for his brothers since they had no parents. Justice and Logan cross paths when Logan gets out after doing 8 years of her 10 year sentence. Justice wanted to provide for Logan after she gave years of her life for his mistakes and choices. Although Logan is hesitant the fire that exist between the two can’t be denied and she can’t resist. I couldn’t understand Justice giving Logan more than what he had himself. That was my only disconnect it just didn’t make sense to me. Looking forward to the next book and seeing what trouble King has gotten in.

My first love...

Logan was a rider! Police kicked in the door and she took the charge. She and Justice were in those Houston streets because Justice had to take care of his brothers, but he also had a promising future. Logan decided the moment they heard the police she'd handle it. What they didn't expect was the time the judge handed down to make her an example. Almost 10 years of her life she missed. What she didn't expect was Logan not only took care of her family, he also set her up real nice. I'm talking mansion, 7 figure accounts, and a garage of cars. Justice was definitely DEVOTED, but he was also a great example to his students and community. These two were definitely each others missing parts. I thought his ex was going to be a problem, but I guess she got the picture. Happy Reading Y'all!💋

Second Chance at Love Story!!!

Justice and Logan had a relationship when they were younger but it ended when she confessed to a crime that he committed and did time for it. After being released after serving almost 10 years, Logan is determined not to return to jail even if she has to stay away from her one true love but Justice wasn't having this because he knew he owed her and still loved her. This was a very good second chance at love book with a different spin. Justice did not forget the sacrifice that Logan made for him the whole time she was doing time. He took care of everyone and everything. We all need a man like Justice who takes care of his loved ones and responsibilities.

Unique 2nd chance

Justice Barrett, is man who is devoted to repaying the woman who sacrificed her life for his during a chaotic and dangerous time in their lives . Logan is in beginning stages of rebuilding her life and has written off the prospect of any future with the love of her life. Justice has other plans. Justice’s Devotion is book one of the Barrett Brothers, and based upon book one, we are in for one hell of a ride!

okayyyyy devotion!!!

This is my first read by Mya and I’m really impressed!! I loved Justice’s devotion literally. I loved the way he loved Lo out loud and was very intentional with her from the very beginning! A black man who can love properly and express himself is top tier!! I know this was a standalone but the setup at the end for the next book has me reeled in, I’m sooooo ready to see what’s next for the Barrett brothers

I really like the storyline of when the main character goes into prison or gets out of prison! This was really good! I'm not sure if I'm interested in reading about the rest of the Brothers though. We'll see!
I felt like the ex left without a rift, I was pretty underwhelmed by that, i'm glad that the FMC got what she deserved after what she experienced

I really wanted to enjoy this storyline. It had so much potential. I became bored quickly with the outdated statements like she was “thicker than frozen oatmeal”. It felt like a 70 year old man was narrating the book.

I wanted more and I was felt unfulfilled.

Soulmates

Justice & Lo soulmates from the start. Now I just don’t agree with ladies taking charges for their man charge but i guessss I understand. Years later Logan is finally free and adjusting to life. Justice has been doing his thing and secretly waiting on his lady to come home. Now Justice just knew when Logan came home it was going to be immediately on & popping even though he had a situationship.

Most definitely Loved how Justice set my girl Logan up tho.

Good read , even though Mya did us wrong on the ending lol.
Can’t wait for King book !!!

Good Book

This book was very good. Lo and Justice were childhood sweethearts. Something went down and she took the rap for Justice. Justice made sure when Lo came home she was taking care of. They realize they were still in love with each other. I love they are back together.

Forward

My heart dropped when Logan made the decision. I was devastated to see Jay didn't try harder to be there for Logan.

But, I got the surprise of my life in the end.

Loved

Justice and Logan were true soulmates. Logan was the definition of "I'll ride for my man", because I couldn't have done that. I get why, but still. I loved how Justice looked out for her and her family the whole time. I don't like that strung ol girl along for so long, but I can see why. Sometimes we settle for someone, when we can't have the person we want.
I would recommend this book, and I can't wait to read the next brother.

Restored Love

Justice is a man who keeps his promises to the one woman he loves. Lo was a true ride or die and she proved that when she took the wrap so Justice could live the life he dreamed of. This was an amazing story and the first time reading this author but it won’t be my last I love her writing style.

I've enjoyed Mya's work before and I saw great things about Justice's Devotion so I was excited to get into it. I enjoyed the overall storyline and the writing, but I found it difficult to connect with Justice and Logan.
This was a fast paced second chance romance between two characters who were in love as teenagers and circumstances separated them for a little over 10 years. Those circumstances surprised me.
I am not a ride-or-die kinda girl. If it comes down to me or you, please believe it's gonna be you. I screamed when I found out Logan did a 10 year bid for Justice. TEN WHOLE YEARS. 3, 650 days in federal prison for this man. That's a different level of love. We meet her a few months after she's been released and she's living with her parents and working at a call center. Justice is an assistant basketball coach after ending his NBA career due to injury.
This is where things got a little wonky for me. It's mentioned by Logan and Justice's brothers that when they were together things were reckless. I really wished Mya would have explored that a bit more. It was like dropping a clue but never actually seeing the mystery solved. I honestly think that's what made it hard for me to connect with them a flashback or two would have helped round it out for me.
I enjoyed experiencing them rediscover their passion for each other. Justice did right by Logan and he did it with no expectations, even though as a reader you knew what was up. Overall I enjoyed it, I just wanted more.

Premise: Logan (BF) goes down on an 8 yr bid for her boyfriend Justice (BM). The book follows their journey once she gets out of jail.

I loved the premise of the story. Very unique and immediately had me side eyeing Justice. What I didn't like was the lack of tension and angst. Justice had a gf of 5 years and immediately dumps her once Logan is freed. Logan also had none of the struggles you typically see with former inmates. We didn't see her struggle to get a job or face any hardships post prison. In fact, Justice somehow saves millions for her , takes care of her family financially; buys her a mansion and 3 cars. Now , Justice did go to the NBA but he got injured and his career ended within the first few years. When she's released, Justice is an Assistant coach for HS bball. Also, Justice was not naturally wealthy so no idea how he had so much money.
Book also ends on a cliffhanger. Not sure I'm interested in reading further.

I really wish Goodreads let you give half stars!! This is a solid 3.5 for me. By no means is it bad but I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to.

The book is fast paced, to the point but it almost seemed a tad too fast paced and soft for the subject. Justice was devoted to his woman! Everything he was doing even without her knowing was super cool. I loved that Amy’s flipped the script and had him waiting on her. He was always waiting so it made since that they jumped back to each other quick but it felt like it needed more angst. Things just fell into place a little bit too easily for them. That might be a weird flaw to some people but I wanted to feel a little more tugging at my heart strings. The book kept my attention though, finished in about 3 hours!

He never forgot his ride or die, his soulmate. Logan.

Wow did I love this story!! Mya has a way of fleshing out the characters in her books. It's like you actually KNOW them. I love that even though Logan took the heat for Justice he never forgot about the solid she did for him. The ultimate sacrifice made for the man she loved. And she continued to love Justice after she was free. Through all the roadblocks and crazy idiot females Justice was determined to get his Queen back in his life. And what a wonderful journey their story was. I think one of the best parts of Justice's story is even though him and his siblings grew up in a harsh environment, they didn't let it define them. It made them stronger. But he also made it possible for his students to have a chance to thrive with stressing the importance of an education and everyday skills. And that ending? Mya! Lol. All in all this book I found to be very uplifting and so heartwarming. Everytime I pick up a book by this author I'm stunned and amazed by her writing talent. While I'm not too wild about certain words, I understand that it's a part of these characters life. So I get it. Regardless this book was fire! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed one bit. I can't wait to read Kings story!
