Rate this book
"The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
Millions of people recognize the Holy Trinity, but few understand that the concept behind it is not limited to a single religion or belief system. What if the Trinity were an ancient code, a formula, a secret so simple yet so powerful, it could change the way we look at our relationship with the Creator and with creation?
The Trinity Secret began with the simple discovery that a trinity or triune nature plays an integral role in all that ever was, is, or will be. From religion, mythology, folklore and psychology to neurophysiology, quantum physics, and even the cutting-edge world of noetics and human consciousness - the concept of a trinity is universal. The number three is a profound and sacred number that speaks of a secret older than humankind.
Just a few of the famous trinities include:
Father-Son-Holy Spirit
Unconscious-Conscious-Superconscious
Earth-Hell-Heaven
Maiden-Mother-Crone
Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva
Birth-Life-Death
Newton's Three Laws of Motion
Join best-selling authors Jones and Flaxman as they embark on a fascinating journey to reveal the secret of the power of three and unlock the code behind the creative force of the universe...a force which each and every one of us has access to.

Probably one of the most enlightening reads I have engaged upon in some time. On one level, the authors attempt to explain the Divine Trinity of Christianity, and in my opinion do a decent job of making clearer what most (me included!) have a hard time grasping. They also compare various trinity ideas throughout the religions, including Eastern, pagan, and many other non-Abrahamic faiths. They even come at the trinity through the back door of quantum physics, which the analytical mind ate up like chocolate. Not that this read is anti-spiritual, anti-faith in any way, shape, or form. While it is true that their views on organized religion would challenge many, the connections they showed here and the suppositions made are meant to strengthen our connection to Source, not detract. I know it did mine! As well as better mold what my idea of the trinity really is to me. To one not willing to look past the confines of their own beliefs, this book will likely come as a challenge. Yet it may also serve to strengthen their faith as well, and quite possible encourage knowledge and tolerance into practices and faiths unknown. We learn the most from that which we oppose, and this book is full of such opportunities. However, there is a reason why one can find this book in the metaphysical section: boiled down, it is a formula for creation, both in the macrocosm and the microcosm. In places, it may read like 'The Secret', and I feel as if this book serves as an evolution to the Law of Attraction movement. A healthy evolution, for the authors bridge many faiths here and help dissolve the barriers built between. As an advocate for Oneness, this is one of the reasons why I have given the book 5 stars. The other is how it helped me on a personal level, not only in further knowing the unlimited creative potential each moment can bring, but also in understanding the Holy Spirit concept and how important it is whether an idea will live... Or not. Truly a gem for new age thinkers (and old ones too!) An alchemy of the mind in which we can all benefit from. Thank you, Marie and Larry for your hard work, and blessed be all of you!

I was initially drawn to this book because of its title. I was intrigued by the authors’ claim to have found a secret triune formula that could change the way humanity interacts with and comprehends divinity.

The authors acknowledge that their findings on the Trinity, “at first might appear to be anti-religion – or even profane: the Holy Trinity was not what many of us had been taught it was in grade-school catechism classes.” (p.16) Therefore, as a Christian reader, it is not surprising that I immediately found myself antagonistic towards the position of the authors.

In the Introduction, their dashed-off description of a flat, lifeless, cold, and distant Triune God certainly did not jive with my experience or teaching. I took exception to their statement about the Holy Trinity as, “Three separate people, three individual entities, and none of them personal or accessible to a normal person unless you followed strict church doctrine and lived a life without sin” (p.17). This is not the God with whom I am in relationship. This is not the God I read of in the Bible or learn about and encounter in worship. God yearns to be in personal, accessible relationship with everyone. God is a constant presence in our lives. We must do our part by recognizing and engaging with this presence, in whatever essence it presents itself. It could be argued that this is the same conclusion Jones and Flaxman reach; however, in my opinion their approach is skewed.

The authors’ irreverent, flippant tone is, at best, annoying and, at worst, makes a mockery of what they are discussing. Perhaps they intended to make the subject matter more approachable for the average reader; however, it comes off as a patronizing and corny attempt at humour. At other times, the writing is quite dry, and I must admit that I flipped through the chapter on physics without fully reading it due to my own lack of knowledge and interest.

I recognize that my negative reactions towards this book are based on my personal biases. They do not necessarily reflect the quality of writing and research achieved by the authors. Reading is subjective and another individual could have a very different experience.

What I found particularly interesting about ‘The Trinity Secret’ was the vast array of triads listed within its pages. Threes are all around us, and once one begins looking for them, they appear in places one may never have imagined. From that aspect, Jones and Flaxman achieved their goal of changing the way I look at my relationship with the Creator and creation.
