Solid ok. A lot of the ideas aren’t new, so it wasn’t a life altering read. I did however enjoy the section about meetings and the importance of meetings. I like the emphasis on making sure there is a set plan and list of duties before the meeting. It ensures everyone else is on board. Also, you can clearly tell this book is dated thanks to the many Apprentice references and all the Trump quotes.
Great productivity book, where even I (a Productivity consultant) had some writer-downers! Easy to read and implement. Casual style and worksheets to help you.

Overall Review: “Perform Like a Rockstar” was a wonderfully clear and helpful book. It outlined numerous practical ways to help organize your life, your to-do-list, and how to keep everything under control. Although written for improving a career, I felt it was very helpful for organizing my life at home (as a stay-at-home-mom), and also for helping with my organization and tasks for my home business. Ms. Drawas’ recommendations are applicable to anyone’s circumstances. A must-read for anyone who feels overwhelmed and wants to get things under control again. Overall rating is 5 out of 5 stars!
Content Review:
VIOLENCE: none
PROFANITY: few mild instances
SEXUAL CONTENT: none
MATURE THEMES: none
RECOMMENDED AGE GROUP: Ages 18+
We recommend this book for ages 18+ because it is a self-help book written for adults. "Perform Like A Rockstar" did not have ANY sexuality, violence, or mature theme. It was completely clean except for 4-5 swear words. A clean read for ages 18+.
This is a very readable book. The chapters are short and I find they do make me want to act. The first chapter after the introduction does not give the reader any tasks which I found odd, but the subsequent chapters provide actions you can take to support the concept laid out in the first chapter. I am only a few chapters into the book, but the first piece of advice was to write down specific goals. I have already found that a useful tip to creating success.
I also appreciate that the author tells us to only incorporate a few changes at a time. I appreciate that it is not presented as an all or nothing approach. The author also notes that certain tips may seem unnecessary now, but that these will likely be useful at a different time in our lives/careers and similarly some that are useful now may not be at another time.
I’ll report back as I continue the book however I can already say this is useful and fun to read. Both qualities are necessary for a good ‘self-help’ book.
Pretty basic tips for being more productive and managing your time better. By the 3rd chapter, I was skimming. Don't get me wrong - they were all good/valid tips...it's just that if you've ever read *anything* about productivity, you know all this already. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I did get a couple of ideas for exercises for an upcoming prioritization talk/workshop I'm doing in a couple of weeks.
I liked this book. It's a very inspirational book with nuggets of info that you can apply to daily life. It's not too difficult to get through either and the chapters can be read quickly and totally out of order.[return]I've been using the tips in this book and they've actually been working!
