***DNF after reading 4 chapters***
Permanent state of WTF-ismo.
Lots of what-the-hell-have-I-just-read moments with characters with a strange case of obvious microcephaly developing less-than-subtle acromegaly. The artsy style is so weird (bordering on ugly), the plot is so mindfuck and confusing (even though I burst out laughing out loud several times) that I cannot decide if this was good or bad. The romanticism is lost on me. But there is no doubt whatsoever that this is hard to forget.
Maybe I'll try again one day. Maybe not.

I first read this Manga when I was in high school. I remember that the art completely turned me off at the beginning. But since this series very popular, I pushed myself and kept reading. Ten years later, I still love this Manga and look for updates.
Let me tell you that Sex Pistols (Love Pistols) is one of the weirdest and most original manga series that I have ever read. It has Mpreg, dub-con, shifting, interspecies mating and artificial wombs made from parasites.
It’s a story filled with delicious madness and crazy. You have to abandon logic as you know it and enjoy the story in its own context, and everything starts to make sense. It’s a whole different world that I sometimes wish I could be a part of.

In Love Pistols’ universe, 30% of people are actually evolved from animals other than apes, and are able to see each others' animal souls and even shift into an animal form. They have a strict hierarchy that rules over their society and sets policies for even mating, with all the important families struggling to find perfect mates and increase their powers. Overall, it’s a collection of love stories with many different characters and couples that are connected to each other in some ways. All the plots are refreshingly unique, and even characters that are not my favorites manage to get me emotionally invested in their stories.
As I mentioned, the art might be a turn-off at the beginning, but you get used to it, and might actually find it quite good in a simple and unique way.

This manga exemplifies the term crack-fic! Hand to deities it's a COMPLETE trainwreck: multiple species of humans, some of which are primates, others evolving from various animals, Mpreg, interspecies smexin, facials, imprinting, scenting, anal worm parasites that create artificial wombs! It's insane!!! It's also one of those beautiful disasters that you can't quite look away from. I needed popcorn! Abandon logic...the universe as you know it. Read with caution people but DO read it if you need a break from reality and can focus between gigglesnorting and face-palming XP.

Described to me as the crack-iest of all Yaoi, Love Pistols in theory just shouldn't work - people evolved from other animals besides apes who can see each others' animal 'souls' and seek out those within a predetermined hierarchy to mate with. And it so happen that guys are ultimately attracted and want to mate with other guys. Makes no sense whatsoever but man it's a strangely compelling story. Bring on volume 2!

I didn’t love this one, but I didn’t hate it. The fact that it actually had some world building won a lot of points with me, but the treatment of others was a little harsh imo and it kind of killed the love I had.
Also my pervy self was looking for a little more erotica that what was available in this, but I didn’t let that effect my rating.

I find it surprising how many people rate this series so highly. I guess it is an acquired taste. I’m not usually one to judge a manga or anime on the artwork or to let it get in the way of reading it but personally, I cannot stand Tarako Kotobuki’s drawing style. I don’t even like the look of any of her characters. I don’t expect them to be all pretty-pretty but to me they just look odd. Not only because they inhabit a world where hands and feet can be twice the size of your entire head. Most of the time it’s not a stylistic choice, it’s just lazy. The lack of detail is disappointing, even with a simplistic drawing style. There are certain panels that are drawn marginally well so Kotobuki proves that she does have the ability.

As other people said before there is something compelling about this serie. The art is not the forte of the serie I'm sad to day but the plot is kind of refreshing and with the many couples out there you're bound to find a story to your liking.

Personnaly the one in Arabia and the one with the fake/friend becoming a lover were my favorites. ***spoiler***
And then I really laughed a lot so I would recommend this as a go to crack yaoi manga !
Male pregnancy is a subject aborded in those stories but really far from being presented as a sick fetish or whatever.
That said if you aren't comfortable with the subject DON'T read it.

Bulan ini adalah bulannya reread komik2 shoujo dan yaoi favoritku, haha. Ada yg ratingnya kuubah (naik atau turun), ada juga yg tetap. Dan minggu ini giliran Sex Pistols yg dibaca ulang. Kalo Sex Pistols ini sih tetep 5 stars, haha. Ini bukan komik kesukaan banyak orang, dengan artwork yg tubuhnya tak proporsional begini dan tema mpreg pula, tapi aku suka krn komik ini lain dari yg lain. Dan biarpun pasangannya banyak dan banyaknya tokoh2 tsb membingungkan bagi sebagian org, aku justru suka. :)

Judul manga yg satu ini memang provokatif, yg baca judulnya langsung mikir yg bkn2, hehehe... Tapi jangan salah, kisah cinta adalah fokus utama dalam manga yg satu ini, dan adegan seks hanyalah bonus yg kadang2 muncul. Tidak seperti manga lain yg fokus di seks melulu dari halaman depan hingga akhir, dan kisah cintanya nol besar.
Aku masih blm ngerti juga kenapa mangaka memilih judul yg satu ini, tebakanku sih mungkin utk mendongkrak penjualan dan rasa penasaran org. ;p
Tapi krn judulnya sama dgn nama kelompok musik punk rock terkenal di Inggris, jadilah judulnya diganti menjadi Love Pistols utk versi bahasa Inggris-nya. :p
Sebenarnya sudah cukup lama manga yg satu ini masuk rak buku yg akan dibaca, alasan ditunda bacanya cuma karena artwork-nya yg kurang bagus. Tapi biasanya sih lama-lama akan terbiasa dgn artwork-nya juga.
Sebagian orang mgkn berpikir kalo plot ceritanya aneh, tapi aku benar2 suka dgn plotnya yg sangat orisinal dan menarik ini. Terkadang aku bosan dgn kisah yaoi dan shounen-ai yg tipikal dan itu-itu saja. Terkadang aku juga bosan dgn yg isinya smut melulu tapi no plot. Jadi yg satu ini ini semacam angin segar gitu deh. Manga ini punya sesuatu yg ga bakalan ditemukan di manga lain.
Anyway, ide ceritanya sih begini. Bagaimana jika tdk hanya primata alias monyet saja yg bisa berevolusi menjadi manusia. Jenis hewan lainnya seperti beruang, kucing, anjing, ular, ikan, burung dll juga ikut berevolusi menjadi manusia, setengah manusia tepatnya, krn dalam kondisi tertentu mereka bisa berubah wujud menjadi hewan dan punya kemampuan istimewa sesuai wujud bawaan mereka.
Yah, itulah mereka. Utk sementara kusebut werecat, weredog, werebear, dll krn pembaca fantasi lbh familiar dgn istilah itu. Bedanya dgn para were di kisah lainnya, dalam manga ini wujud hewan mereka tdk bisa dilihat manusia biasa lainnya (disebut kelompok monyet), dan para manusia biasa bahkan tdk tau keberadaan para were tsb. Tapi ada juga manusia yg bisa melihat. Yah, semacam hantu begitu, ada yg bisa lihat, ada yg tdk bisa lihat.
Jumlah para were jika digabung semuanya sangat sedikit, tdk sampai separuhnya jumlah monyet. Ini karena para were semuanya tdk fertil/subur dibandingkan ras monyet yg fertilitasnya sangat tinggi, lihat saja setiap were yg berpasangan dgn monyet alias manusia biasa, hanya akan menghasilkan keturunan manusia biasa, begitu kuatnya gen si monyet, hahaha. Jadi ga heran kalo para were makin langka. Dan karena itulah, persilangan antara 2 ras yg berbeda juga tdk dilarang, malah sangat disarankan, walaupun ada juga keluarga yg ingin mempertahankan kemurnian ras mereka dan hanya berpasangan dgn sejenisnya.
Selain itu, dalam ras para were itu terdapat kasta. Contohnya, utk ras kucing, jaguar termasuk kelas berat, dan kucing termasuk kelas ringan, ada juga yg masuk kelas menengah. Berpasangan dgn kelas berat adalah impian para kelas ringan dan menengah utk menghasilkan keturunan yg lebih baik dan jaminan utk masuk ke kelas sosial yg lebih tinggi. Jumlah kelas berat juga terbilang sangat sedikit dibandingkan kelas menengah dan ringan yg bejibun jumlahnya. Ini karena level reproduksi kelas berat lebih rendah dibandingkan kelas lainnya. Yah contohnya seperti harimau yg anaknya cuma 1 atau 2 dengan anjing yg anaknya setengah lusin.
Perbedaan kasta tak hanya di antara sesama ras, namun juga antar ras. Status ras anjing dalam piramida kasta para were ini berada di kaki piramida, sementara jaguar si ras kucing menempati posisi keempat teratas dgn ras mermaid di posisi puncak. Yup, mermaid termasuk ras ikan. :) Kelangkaan ras mermaid jugalah yg membuatnya berada di posisi puncak piramida. Sementara posisi di bawah Mermaid adalah Retrogade, yg juga sangat langka, namun tingkat fertilitasnya sehebat ras monyet.
Retrogade adalah sebuah kasus yg sangat langka yg saking langkanya bahkan tdk akan pernah terjadi dalam puluhan tahun. Retrogade terjadi dari hasil persilangan were x manusia yg menghasilkan manusia utk beberapa generasi, lalu tiba-tiba menghasilkan were dari persilangan manusia x manusia. Were tsb sebelumnya adalah manusia biasa, namun jika dipicu oleh kondisi tertentu, maka gen were-nya yg tadinya tertidur akan muncul ke permukaan. Dan itulah yg dialami Norio.
Norio tadinya adalah manusia biasa, namun ketika ia selamat dari kecelakaan, ia tiba-tiba bisa melihat para were yg bertebaran di sekelilingnya. Tak hanya ayah dan ibunya yg jadi berwajah monyet walaupun tetap bertubuh manusia, ia juga dikejar-kejar banyak were krn ia menguarkan aroma feromon dari tubuhnya! Ia tak habis pikir, apa yg sedang terjadi? Sampai ia bertemu dgn Kunimasa, si werecat yg adalah jaguar! Dari Kunimasa, ia akhirnya tahu kalau ada dunia lain yg disembunyikan dari para manusia, bahkan pemerintah juga terlibat di dalamnya, krn ada were yg bekerja di bidang pemerintahan. Jadi, para were ini disebut Madararui. Dan Norio sebagai Retrogade yg super langka dan premium ini menjadi incaran para Madararui lainnya. Nah, bagaimana cara Norio mengatasi hal ini? Selain itu, Norio termasuk ras yg manakah? Kelas berat, kelas menengah atau kelas ringan?
Sex Pistol termasuk salah satu komik komedi romantis yaoi yg paling kurekomendasikan utk para fujoshi (fans yaoi). Mangaka yg satu ini sangat pintar mengaduk-aduk emosi pembaca. Kisah cintanya sangat menyentuh, emosional dan terasa begitu REAL. Dan aku suka kisah cinta semua pasangan dalam kisah ini, sampai ga bisa milih pasangan yg mana yg merupakan favoritku. :) Ada pasangan ular x musang, serigala x buaya, anjing x kucing, kucing x ular, anjing x ular, ular x buaya, kucing x kucing, dll. Tentu saja hasil persilangan antar 2 ras itu bkn berarti wujud hewannya adalah campuran 2 ras tsb. Si anak hanya akan mewarisi wujud salah satu orangtua mereka, namun mereka bisa punya 2 kepribadian yg dimiliki kedua orangtuanya. Contoh : Jaguar x ular = ular dan kucing. Ular si anak pertama punya wujud ular, namun juga punya kepribadian atau keistimewaan yg dimiliki ras kucing, misalnya bisa tergoda oleh catnip. Sama halnya dgn si kucing anak kedua punya wujud kucing tapi punya kepribadian atau keistimewaan ras ular, misalnya bisa berenang, tdk takut air. Jika ada yg bertanya-tanya bagaimana proses persilangan terjadi, tentunya dilakukan dalam wujud manusia, bkn dalam wujud hewan mereka. ;)
Uniknya, dalam dunia Madararui ini, pasangan sesama jenis (berkelamin sama) juga bisa menghasilkan keturunan. Dipicu oleh kelangkaan spesies dan ketdksuburan mereka, beberapa teknologi ditemukan kaum Madararui. Kurasa inilah dunia impian para gay dan lesbian. Dgn teknologi yg ditemukan Madararui, mereka (terutama pria) bisa melahirkan anak kandung milik pasangan dgn menggunakan rahim buatan yg dikembangkan dalam tubuh pria tsb. Walaupun aku agak bingung, bagaimana embrio bisa terbentuk di antara pasangan lesbian? Blm pernah dibahas di komiknya.
Pengarang yg satu ini bnr2 eksentrik. Buat pembaca yg close minded dan gay/lesbian haters dijamin ga akan tahan dgn model cerita kek gini, hahaha.
Di komik yg satu ini tdk ada kasus Stockholm Syndrome yg cukup sering muncul di komik yaoi, bukannya aku benci dgn tema Stockholm Syndrome sih. Aku lebih tdk suka tema BDSM yg super hardcore, walaupun sudah coba baca 2 judul komik yg fokus di tema hardcore BDSM, aku tetap saja merasa mual melihat bagaimana cara si S menyiksa dan melukai si M sampai hampir mati dgn atas nama cinta. Memang sih, BDSM itu serupa dansa, butuh 2 orang yg terlibat di dlmnya, dgn kata lain si M sendiri tdk mempermasalahkan siksaan yg diterimanya. Tapi kurasa utk menunjukkan kasih sayang dan cinta kita pada pasangan itu sama sekali tdk perlu lewat pukulan atau siksaan, masih ada banyak cara lain yg lebih baik.
Akhir kata, aku senang bgt krn menjadi fans komik yaoi dan shounen-ai, jadi bisa baca banyak komik dgn plot cerita yg bagus dan unik. Setelah puluhan tahun baca ribuan komik shoujo, aku mulai merasa bosan dgn tema ceritanya yg itu-itu saja dan slow pace, you know, si cewek butuh hampir beberapa volume baru bisa jadian dgn cowok, beberapa volume lagi baru bisa ciuman, dan beberapa lagi utk ke tahap selanjutnya, lalu tiba-tiba skip years and married and the end. Bknnya aku benci yg slow pace, tapi terkadang kalo lagi ga mood baca yg slow pace itu bisa gondok juga krn ceritanya masih di situ-situ alurnya dgn sejumlah drama khas shoujo yg mudah ditebak. Yah, sebenarnya kasus klise ini terjadi juga krn kita sudah kebanyakan melahap buku, jadi kalo tdk ada plot yg lebih orisinal lagi ya mau ga mau kadang merasa boring juga sehingga akhirnya beralih ke genre lain yg punya plot cerita yg lebih orisinal dan tdk mudah ditebak plotnya.

Sex Pistol termasuk salah satu komik komedi romantis yaoi yg paling kurekomendasikan utk para fujoshi (fans yaoi). Mangaka yg satu ini sangat pintar mengaduk-aduk emosi pembaca. Kisah cintanya sangat menyentuh, emosional dan terasa begitu REAL. Dan aku suka kisah cinta semua pasangan dalam kisah ini, sampai ga bisa milih pasangan yg mana yg merupakan favoritku. :) Ada pasangan ular x musang, serigala x buaya, anjing x kucing, kucing x ular, anjing x ular, ular x buaya, kucing x kucing, dll. Tentu saja hasil persilangan antar 2 ras itu bkn berarti wujud hewannya adalah campuran 2 ras tsb. Si anak hanya akan mewarisi wujud salah satu orangtua mereka, namun mereka bisa punya 2 kepribadian yg dimiliki kedua orangtuanya. Contoh : Jaguar x ular = ular dan kucing. Ular si anak pertama punya wujud ular, namun juga punya kepribadian atau keistimewaan yg dimiliki ras kucing, misalnya bisa tergoda oleh catnip. Sama halnya dgn si kucing anak kedua punya wujud kucing tapi punya kepribadian atau keistimewaan ras ular, misalnya bisa berenang, tdk takut air. Jika ada yg bertanya-tanya bagaimana proses persilangan terjadi, tentunya dilakukan dalam wujud manusia, bkn dalam wujud hewan mereka. ;)
Uniknya, dalam dunia Madararui ini, pasangan sesama jenis (berkelamin sama) juga bisa menghasilkan keturunan. Dipicu oleh kelangkaan spesies dan ketdksuburan mereka, beberapa teknologi ditemukan kaum Madararui. Kurasa inilah dunia impian para gay dan lesbian. Dgn teknologi yg ditemukan Madararui, mereka (terutama pria) bisa melahirkan anak kandung milik pasangan dgn menggunakan rahim buatan yg dikembangkan dalam tubuh pria tsb. Walaupun aku agak bingung, bagaimana embrio bisa terbentuk di antara pasangan lesbian? Blm pernah dibahas di komiknya.
Pengarang yg satu ini bnr2 eksentrik. Buat pembaca yg close minded dan gay/lesbian haters dijamin ga akan tahan dgn model cerita kek gini, hahaha.
Di komik yg satu ini tdk ada kasus Stockholm Syndrome yg cukup sering muncul di komik yaoi, bukannya aku benci dgn tema Stockholm Syndrome sih. Aku lebih tdk suka tema BDSM yg super hardcore, walaupun sudah coba baca 2 judul komik yg fokus di tema hardcore BDSM, aku tetap saja merasa mual melihat bagaimana cara si S menyiksa dan melukai si M sampai hampir mati dgn atas nama cinta. Memang sih, BDSM itu serupa dansa, butuh 2 orang yg terlibat di dlmnya, dgn kata lain si M sendiri tdk mempermasalahkan siksaan yg diterimanya. Tapi kurasa utk menunjukkan kasih sayang dan cinta kita pada pasangan itu sama sekali tdk perlu lewat pukulan atau siksaan, masih ada banyak cara lain yg lebih baik.
Akhir kata, aku senang bgt krn menjadi fans komik yaoi dan shounen-ai, jadi bisa baca banyak komik dgn plot cerita yg bagus dan unik. Setelah puluhan tahun baca ribuan komik shoujo, aku mulai merasa bosan dgn tema ceritanya yg itu-itu saja dan slow pace, you know, si cewek butuh hampir beberapa volume baru bisa jadian dgn cowok, beberapa volume lagi baru bisa ciuman, dan beberapa lagi utk ke tahap selanjutnya, lalu tiba-tiba skip years and married and the end. Bknnya aku benci yg slow pace, tapi terkadang kalo lagi ga mood baca yg slow pace itu bisa gondok juga krn ceritanya masih di situ-situ alurnya dgn sejumlah drama khas shoujo yg mudah ditebak. Yah, sebenarnya kasus klise ini terjadi juga krn kita sudah kebanyakan melahap buku, jadi kalo tdk ada plot yg lebih orisinal lagi ya mau ga mau kadang merasa boring juga sehingga akhirnya beralih ke genre lain yg punya plot cerita yg lebih orisinal dan tdk mudah ditebak plotnya.

Come al solito compro manga senza conoscerne la trama. Al primo impatto è stato un WTF. Ogni tanto chiudevo il volume, mi giravo verso mio marito e gli chiedevo:"Ma cosa sto leggendo?" Non mi capitava di avere certe reazioni da "8 guerrieri".
I disegni, soprattutto alle prime tavole, sembrano inusuali (cosa accentuata dal fatto che la carta usata per stampare il volume è lucida, aumentando quella sensazione di stranezza anche col tatto), ma le rappresentazioni degli animali sono davvero fatte bene.
Ormai ce l'ho e lo finisco, mi dico, anche perché non mi sento di dare un giudizio senza aver almeno letto tutto il volume. E la sensazione di incredulità (se così possiamo definirla) si è spenta man mano che l'autrice ci presenta il suo mondo, lasciando il posto al desiderio di andare avanti.
Ad un certo punto ho avuto l'illuminazione. Kunimasa, uno dei protagonisti, mi sembrava familiare poi mi sono ricordata Concrete Garden. Ecco perché la stavo adocchiando come serie! Avevo letto Concrete Garden e mi era piaciuto parecchio quindi volevo leggere altre opere dell'autrice solo che lo avevo scordato!
Superato l'impatto iniziale, devo dire che l'opera sembra promettente. Un world building davvero con i controfiocchi che riprende in qualche maniera le regole dell'omegaverse e le adatta al mondo dei Madararui.
Ho apprezzato perecchio la cura nella distinzione di alcune razze (alcune non ci sono state ancora presentate come si devi) ma ho delle aspettative. Speriamo che non deluda! 😁
E dire che se avessi semplicemente letto la trama e valutato qualche disegno di sfuggita non lo avrei mai comprato.

This series is so terrible! And insane! I love it and would never recommend it to anyone. Those stars up there are not indicative of quality (one star! At most!) but my irrational love for this awful, ridiculous series.
It's difficult to address exactly how terrible a single volume is without discussing the series as a whole, but I will attempt to do so! Briefly. Briefly.
Why You Should Not Read This Volume of Love Pistols:
1) I do not have any trouble accepting the basic premise of the series, which is that there is a secret race of people who are also animals who are also human, evidently, I guess, I don't know, but I do wish Kotobuki would explain this (and the various facets of their biology and particular subculture) in a such a way that this made sense. But, uh, so long as you turn off your brain and coast through/ignore the few stories that are dependent on the audience understanding the Zooman biology/subculture, you're good to go!
2) I understand this is something of a tradition in the world of romance, but seriously, enough with the rape threats. Seriously. You know what would be awesome? Two people who respect one another courting each other in a respectful manner.
3) The facial! So, so gross. I think the fact that Kunimasa and Norio's relationship effectively begins with Kunimasa forcing himself on Norio and ejaculating onto Norio's face is the number one reason why Kunimasa and Norio's relationship is the relationship I like the least in Love Pistols.
4) Kotobuki's treatment of women in this manga makes me make this face: >\
I understand BL has a long and glorious tradition of ignoring the ladies, villainizing them, or reducing them to minor background characters, but that doesn't make it okay.
5) Man, what is up with all her romantic heroes being total jerks? Manipulative, possessive, rude, controlling, etc., etc. At least we haven't had any actual rape yet. (What's up, volume two!)
6) It's terrible.
(I love the artwork, tho', and I know I'm in the minority when I say this.)
And yet I love Love Pistols. I can think of absolutely nothing to recommend it, but it's easily my favorite of the various BL titles available in English, which is fairly damning commentary on either the state of the English-speaking BL market or my tastes. Pretty sure it's the latter.

At first, I didn't know what to expect from this manga. But as I kept on reading I laughed at the characters and was driven into a world where I truly wish to be a part of.
The art style is somewhat simplified, which to me that helps in getting more comfortable with all the characters and their stories.
That's another thing I love about this manga series. All of the characters are connected in some way to each other.
Overall, I love everything about this series. ^_^

Because this series basically prods at all the uncomfortable crack-y kinks we might have read about, and makes us question the foundations of how we see gender and relationships. Male pregnancy? Why not. Borderline bestiality? Go for it. Threesomes, moresomes, circular family trees? Of course. It's fantastic in its irreverence to social rules. The angst also feels so good.

It was weird. Oddly compelling, but weird, especially the non-importaant factor of gender during the act of marrige, and men giiving birth. But it was oddly interesting and compelling, and I felt really excited and near crying at times of shock and sadness.

This was a little strange but I actually enjoyed it. Its a fantasy yaoi in which the world is comprised of 70% humans and 30% "zoomans," people who evolved from monkeys like normal humans but have DNA from other mammals or reptiles mixed in.
The world building is pretty decent and as long as I don't think too much about genetics I can allow myself to get into the story.
The main character, Norio, discovers that he is a rare breed known as "the missing link" and everyone wants to mate with him because of his high fertility. Kunimasa, a catamount, claims him for himself and thus begins one the funniest relationships I've read about in a while.
This is old school yaoi so the drawings are of the big hands, exaggerated facial expressions, and ultra masculine seme variety. I'm not a huge fan of that style but like Junjo Romatica, which began a year earlier in 2003, this series is ongoing and the drawings dramatically improve over the years. I have no idea how far I'll get in this series but I'm at least interested enough to see what happens in the next volume.

Whaaaat the hell is this? This had to be the weirdest and grossest manga.
And it’s not just the mpreg; like I’ve read better mpreg, it was the gross behaviour of the characters and the WEIRD BUTT PARASITE TROPE. WHY. I know the end goal is for butt babies with mpreg, but god... whyyyy
Maybe this wasn’t for me. I’m not to into mpreg unless it’s done well (and it can be, good mpreg manga is out there) but I’m also not into the whole ABO thing too. So, I don’t know. Each to their own but I didn’t like any of the characters either.
And... the art. Hooo boy. I found it really ugly and too much the cringe yaoi anatomy to the point it was distracting.
Again. Each to their own... but this was a huge nope from me. (And this is coming from someone who read Animal X!)

I read v. 1 of this series years ago and fell in love with it. Unfortunetly it got sidelined and the books became hard to find as production dropped. I tried for years to get out of print volumes and did pretty well but finally quit trying. I got up through v. 5 with a lot swapping.
A few years later it got picked up in e-format and I sold my paper copies and now own v. 1-7 in eformat from BnN. Its sort of wanted a little as far as good story but its still interesting. Love this series!

Recuerdo haberlo leído hace algunos años (solo los primeros volúmenes), y ahora que lo conseguí de forma legal empecé a leerlo y recordar viejas memorias.
Norio y Kunimasa se me hacen la pareja perfecta, bueno también Shiro y Yonekuni. Los 4 son perfectos.

Wow, this series is out there and I LOVE IT. I was looking for a fantasy yaoi series and this was perfect.

Not your typical yaoi manga; it's got a lot of interesting ideas and world building I would like to see expanded on. Though it does have a tendency of falling into the tropes you find in the genre (like the seme/uke roles that plague most of the relationships in yaoi manga -- also those big fuck-off hands jfc).
Still, the art is pretty good, the ideas are interesting imo, and it makes me want to keep reading. It's only the first book so here's hoping it gets better and doesn't waste its potential.

I have absolutely no idea why I loved this manga, but I kinda did. It's wrong on so many levels, makes no sense and yet there's something just addictive about it.
There's a secret race of male humans called Zoomans that have DNA from either dog, snake, bear, cat, whale or alligator mixed in with the normal primate DNA. Normal humans (apemen) see zoomen as normal humans but other zoomen can sometimes see the animal spirit and in some cases transform into the spirit animal. When zoomen breed they generally produce apemem, - the animal DNA being recessive. However there's a very special type of zooman called a missing link that enables zoomen to breed their animal DNA into their offspring. These missing links are highly sort after and send zoomen into a mating frenzy.
Our hero Norio finds out he's a missing link and every male zooman wants a piece of him. The Alpha Kunimasa Madarame makes a claim on Norio but our young zooman must make him fall in love. We also follow Kunimasa's man hating older brother Yonekuni who might not hate men quite as much as he claims....
The artwork is far from my favourite - it's blocky and the proportions are as ludicrous as the plot and yet somehow it seems to work.
This series is a total guilty pleasure.
