I enjoyed the art style and the story, and the explanations in the back of the book were really helpful for understanding various aspects of the holiday and why the different traditions exist for the holiday (such as the purpose of the sharing/gifts to charity, as well as the fasting being to better understand those in need).
Cute, colourful and easy-to-grasp introduction to the celebration of Eid al Fitr. This book is a good tool to introduce kids to some of the basic tenets of Islam and how they are practised by people around us. People we might know and meet in our daily lives. Suitable for 4 years and above.
This is a very cute Eid book! It included a lot of the Eid traditions and celebrations but then focused on the main character, Safa, getting the presents she asked for. Safa doesn't share her new bike with her cousin at first but then Safa and her mom go out to give Eid gifts to their neighbors. Safa realizes that sharing makes her feel good. So even though the main focus of this book is Eid, it also could be used to emphasis the importance of sharing.
Illustrations are vibrant and full of detail - great attention grabber for the little ones. Love how Safa and mom wore matching kurtis on Eid. Glossary of key words at back is great.
