'Sparkbright' is adult fiction with a difference. It's the story of four young women who don't live in London and don't have high-paid jobs. Yet Becky, Libby, Lisa and Robyn are upwardly mobile graduates. Becky and Libby are best friends. So are Lisa and Robyn. Each pair of girls shares an apartment. But in frequent four way catchups at the coolest lounge bar in town they exchange confidences which grow more startling each time. They sometimes disagree but they rarely fight and at the end of the day they're always there for each other. So far they've had little luck with boyfriends. They've either been bored by needy nice guys or mistreated by brazen bad boys. Suddenly sparks fly when new guys come into their lives. From an academic family, buxom Becky's working her socks off in a bank when she meets Martin, the Irish musician so outspoken and exciting-only to find herself flirting with danger on the back of his motorbike. So what's a girl to do when she also finds herself fancying a friend's handsome father John, so young for his age?Beautiful Libby was encouraged to study art by her hairdresser mum.She gets a job at an art gallery but supplements her meagre income by posing nude in an evening life class. That's where she meets Charles, an unconventional painter. There's a lot Charles can teach Libby about passionate lovemaking but can she help him overcome a tragedy that happened in his past?Unlike her friends, lissom Lisa has enjoyed a privileged upbringing but after becoming disenchanted with her medical studies she's now set her sights on interior design-plus the suave Julian, a well-off and controversial lecturer in English Literature. Unfortunately Julian's fan club of frisky female students threatens their relationship. Can Lisa handle it when she receives a shocking anonymous letter right out of the blue?Elegant Robyn's studying for a Masters in Psychology and she's the one her three friends can really confide in over the ups and downs of their personal lives. Robyn herself is yearning to find the father who left home when she was only three and emigrated to New Zealand. Can this lonely girl finally find the meaning of the magical word 'sparkbright' when mystery man Greg unexpectedly enters her life? Each of these four fully relatable young friends has her own intriguing emotional story which becomes even more compelling when it's entwined with the others.
