Part of my routine during this world pandemic is to read at least fifty pages before I begin my day. I clocked in over 3 hours before I realized how many pages I had read. This book draws your attention and holds on to it. You will be hooked from the beginning to the end. Who knew a “cocktail” of Horror, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy could be so good? The characters were well developed. The prose flows naturally. Be ready for a wild ride. Caroline is an incredible writer. Her writing is simple yet elegant in narration. This book will get you out of a reading block. Get it if you need a breath of fresh air.

Origin of the Evil indeed amalgamate all the good components of a fantasy, sci-fi and a thriller. The book opens with Nick being awaken by Cotter to give him the breaking news being covered by all media channels; ‘a plane crash’. But right before the crash, the pilot happens to have announced the object it clashed with to be an UFO. And thus begins the wild ride! The story line not only instantly grabs your attention at but makes sure to keep you engaged throughout. Caroline’s writing style is effortless and gives the pacing a natural flow. The events are punchy to say the least. That combined with an intriguing narrative makes this novel a HIT. This novel is adventurous and exciting. It will have your adrenaline pumped throughout.

Caroline Angel created a thrilling book full of adventure, action, and mystery. I really liked it! You keep connecting with all the characters which is not easy. It is very hard for an author to create empathy between the reader and the characters, but you can expect it in Origin of Evil. Also, have you seen the cover? It is awesome.

I recommend Origin of Evil as it is a great action book for us to think friendship, trust and ultimately badass people. Will our main characters be able to save the world? I got myself lost in this world and I couldn’t stop reading and wanting to find out more about the story.

Too me this book is a must for this summer. It is easy to read, and the action is well paced. You can expect a roller coaster of emotions. Believe me when I tell you that it is addictive, I have read it in a day!

I read her first book, Madman Across the Water, and sought out any other books she has written because she is a seriously fantastic author. ow this doesn't get picked up by Netflix I don't know, it has to the best book I've ever read. Horror, Fantasy, Science Fiction, incredibly believable, complex characters and monsters that haunt you in their evilness and creepiness!
I don't want to give any of the story away but suffice to say if you like your sci-fi set in a contemporary world you will love this one, and it will keep you reading until you're finished. I just couldn't put it down! I can't wait for the sequel, I read an interview that says it's written and submitted, all I can say is HURRY UP I NEED IT NOW!!!

This is the fifth book I've read written by Caroline Angel; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the first book in the Origin of Evil Series; it is the beginning of a new series. The story continues in the next book and needs to be read in order

I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

More sci-fi than horror, but that was OK with me. Really good story and a good job by the author balancing many characters and making the complicated story make sense.
