I’m trying to get into poetry again. Some of these authors I really didn’t enjoy but others I felt very connected to. Regardless, the imagery and invocations of female gods and women’s importance in life and culture and land was so present in every poem, it was very well cultivated. Happy with this one
There are few things better than good poetry and She Rises Like the Sun has some of the best. Well worth a read whether you're a poetry aficionado or not and one I'll keep on my bookshelf for years to come.
Stopped reading. The introduction referenced a female writer that abuses children. That’s not divine goddess energy. I just couldn’t read further or trust the rest of the book.
My favorite book of poetry of all time. So empowering and insightful; I immediately had a bond with it right as I started reading. For all women out there, this is a must-read.
