This was fine. I like the illustrations of the cats. A story about the things a boy likes to do on a rainy day. I like that his activities were not gender-specific (he has a tea party, although the book doesn't call it that), but the story overall is nothing special for me. It's okay.
I loved this. I loved the descriptions - the boy pressing his nose to the screen and smelling the rain, his activities on rainy days, walking out in straight down rain and splashing in the rain, a barefoot man in the rain and toes in the grass, etc.
A little boy plays with his toys indoors because it is raining. Finally he can wait no longer and turns from his indoor play to red rubber boot day splashing in puddles. Cute story. Wonderful illustrations.
This is the first book from our latest library bundle. This time the theme is rain. Red Rubber Boot Day is more of an illustrated poem than a story with a plot. It makes a rainy day seem appealing through its colorful pictures of indoor activities to do on rainy days as well as outdoor puddle splashing fun. I like that each picture contains bold details, so in addition to reading the poem there are also lots of objects to point to and name on each page.
This book has amazing illustrations, you could do a whole lesson on senses - What senses the character of the book used during the story, and how do you relate to that? You could ask your students to write a story where they are the main character and what would they do in a rainy day. Or...you could use this book and Pete The Cat "I like My White Shoes" and make book to book connections during circle time. Students will use great vocabulary and they might also make personal connections too!
This was book was good, the pictures were nice, but it would be so much better in rhyme. The thoughts were good and cute, and what every kids thinks they will do on a rainy day, whether they do or not.
The story of a boy and what he does to occupy himself on a rainy day. It is refreshing to see activities often attributed to both boys and girls. When the rain has not stopped he goes out to splash about. Toddlers
A boy describes all the things that he likes to do on a rainy day. FIVE STAR artwork. This is more of a picture book than a story book. The art tells the tale. ;D
Simple words. Beautiful pictures. Really portrayed the feelings of a rainy day - the dreariness and the fun - and the happiness when the sun comes out again.
