My Red Mittens

Rate this book
A small boy delights in a winter's day as he dons a new pair of fuzzy red mittens and goes out to play in the snow. Children will love touching the flocked red mittens throughout, as they follow the boy's adventures building a snowman, knocking down icicles, packing snowballs, and more. This charming book evokes that special wintertime feeling, second only to a sunny day covered with new-fallen snow.

I think this will be great book for the kids in my classroom who have never experienced snow. Even though I think the book is aimed mroe at toddlers, it gives a flavor of what it's like to play in the snow that I think will be thrilling for them.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the descriptive language that the writer used. Between the descriptive words and the illustrations the reader feels as though they are playing outside in the snow. I think that this story is geared more toward the younger ages. I would probably only read this book to kindergarten and first graders.
