I have recently acquired a taste for Sociology and this book gave me the background narrative, skills and tools for taking up academic Sociology.

It is written by experts in the field and covers substantial grounds: Family, Work, Power, Media, Emotions, Religion, Modernity, Consumption, Racializing, Gender, Technology, Community, Education, Identity, Sexuality and Trading.

Although it is a textbook but does not behave like one :) By that I mean, it has a user-friendly tone!

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a solid introduction to the field of Sociology!

寫得很淺,但是新版覆蓋的一些議題是重要卻容易被忽略的。
