Rate this book
Pandora and her friends are off to Persia to track the fifth evil: Rage. They have camels to help them cross the desert, but mysterious sandstorms and frightening strangers keep them from moving quickly. Luckily, help arrives in the form of a cute Persian boy who helps Pandy and her friends search for Persia's secret Garden of the Jin. In the garden, where genies hide their treasure, there is a lamp that was once used to imprison an angry genie. So Pandy & Co. just have to figure out how to capture one of the most enraged genies of all time. Easy, right?

It's a pretty decent series. It's just... unsettling how the author handles deaths so casually for an MG series.

Another terrific Pandora book. What makes this series so great is that it's just plain entertaining for kids, while at the same time making grown-ups happy that kids are reading such smart books. Underneath the banter and lighthearted adventure is a serious story about responsibility, love and bravery. But all of the dark edges are appropriate for tweens and teens and give the books the depth that make them more than just another silly (but fun) story. When you add in the history, mythology and literary references, and Hennesy's rapier wit and great imagery, you end up with a smart series of books that are also terrifically fun to read. This book was no exception. I have to say, Hera made me experience some rage of my own! I'm still enjoying watching the girls grow up; they feel very real despite their unreal circumstances and their love for each other is very touching. And the trip to Bagdad was beautiful and exciting, a very different adventure than the usual myth tale.

This series has really grown on me. I was luke-warm to begin with, but over the series have really enjoyed the stories and am even a little disappointed that I have to wait now for the last couple of books to be written. They are a great way to introduce Mythology to people. I personally enjoy the accuracy and writting of Rick Riordan more, but for those who are not quite up to that level, this is a great spring-board. The main characters are teenagers, and as such, their, like, vocabulary, like, has the word, like, peppered like all throughout, but is it less apparant and annoying as the books go on. Dare I say it's intentional, as a subtle show of how they are maturing? Anyhow through the series you get to travel to lots of different countries and meet different forms of mythological beliefs, even get a few well known fables and fairy tales woven in, which is lots of fun. It's a good basic tale of young people trying to do good and make up for past mistakes. Who doesn't want that lesson to be learned? I might wait until the entire series has been completed before picking it up, though. Each book is a quick read, and enjoyable enough, but I don't think it'll hold my curiosity up for a whole year as I wait for the next one, not like other books do...Harry Potter, Fablehaven, Percy Jackson, just to name a few.

Fifth in the series and just as good as the prior four novels. Love that, as Pandora travels to different parts of the world, we learn about folklore in those countries. New characters and old merge together to make for exciting story! Even though this is a YA book, adults enjoy it too! Just released this month and I already cannot wait for the next in the series!!

This is the best one in the series, and I think I owe it a nice review. This is the first book I ever got on Kindle, and I read it during a very happy summer. It's definitely the most nostalgic for me, and the one I remember the most, but it's also just a lot of fun. The previous book, Pandora Gets Heart, is one of my least favorites in the series plot-wise, and this one brings the story back and includes some actual character development. I think this is the book where the girls + Homer make the most personal progress and stop being so one-dimensional.

This book has a pretty significant amount of violence that might be too much depending on the child, because it is quite literally body horror, but it's also just...really creative and interesting, I guess? Having people's ailments represent different fruits (somehow this is not as dumb as it sounds!) blew my mind when I was a kid. Easily the most entertaining final showdown to capture an evil. -1 for Persephone/the incessant nicknames. Otherwise, Carolyn nailed it.

Even though Pandora goes to Persia in this book, the mythology is Arabian, and I think it’s Islamic. This book might be set after Islam was founded, but I am not sure of that. The book, however, has some great description of the perils Pandy has to go through to recapture Rage, like dealing with genies or a garden with jeweled fruit. Iole is finally getting more prominent in the series, which is good. Although this is my favorite book in the series, because of its writing, the portrayal of the Middle East and Persian myth could be much better.

The storyline was interesting in this one, but it was the blasé and kind of violent/weird/gross approach to death that felt out of place for this book for kids.

HadesxPersephone carried the whole book though

Rage is a terrible thing

The emotion, not the book. Ms. Hennessey did a wonderful job showing how it cause so much death and destructio

Pandora Gets Angry is a great book. The series usually focus on Greek gods, but this time it also include Persian religion. The setting of this wonderful book takes place in Persia and this time Pandora and her friends: Iole and Homer, need to capture the fifth evil: rage. The reason why Pandora’s other best friend, Alcie, isn’t with her is due to her being killed by Hera. Now Alcie is located in the underworld.
During the process of reading this book, I read about many different themes. One of them are temptation. In this book it explains the different types of things that can tempt a person into doing something they’re not suppose to do. My favorite part of this book is when Pandora and her friends enter the Garden of Jinn to save Alcie who got back from the underworld. While reading the process of them getting into the Garden of Jinn, I found out that it’s not only physical things, such as money or clothes, but there also relationship. Family, friends, and love can also force or tempt people to do different things.

Book Review #2 I felt bad for Pandora during the journey of finding the evil, rage, because there were so many problems that are around her, such as Iole being sick, Homer blaming Pandora for what she had done, Alcie being in the underworld, and also sandstorms in Egypt. She must have felt very frustrated.
This book has a genre of fiction or fantasy. Before I started reading the book I wondered about the cover's meaning. What does a genie's lamp has to Pandora and what did Pandora release in the cover page? I wonder what the last two evils she still need to capture is? Since I started reading the first book of the series I wondered why the Gods didn't help and interfere more with Pandora's journey. Since this is such an important journey and not finding all the evils in time can affect the gods, I thought the gods should have helped Pandora more throughout her journey of finding the seven evils she resisted.

This has to be my favorite in this amazing series even if you for some reason hate all the other Pandora books you need to at least read this one! I am a high school student and I had been reading the series and I almost stopped not because I thought it was a bad series which I do not because I thought maybe I should be spending my time reading more older books which thankfully I did not listen. Their are references to many classic tales that have nothing to do with Greek mythology and if you love are a fan of the plot of Charlie and the chocolate factory this might interest you. I love this story from beginning to end and I have read this book at least three times. their is so much going on and it all has a purpose which I love and we are accompanied by a new character who is pretty adorable paired up with someone I will not spoil but you sadly you can not truly from an honest true opinion without reading it yourself so please give it a shot.

Every time I start one of these, I feel so cheesy. But then I get used to it and I really do enjoy it. There are really funny parts. I loved the new characters in this book, especially Douban. I thought this book was very disturbing at times. It wasn't things I couldn't handle, it was just really surprising coming from a children's book. I'm just surprised that the characters are emotionally or mentally scarred for life.

I loved the part about the jinn and how Alcie came back and learned to control her fate, literally. I don't understand what happened to the cherry thing in the back of her back though... Loved the plot and characters, a great book in a line of great books!

This books had me laughing and writhing in fear because of the mention of snakes, but other than that, it's amazing! Recommended to everyone, no matter if you like Greek mythology or not, this storyline and these characters are perfectly flawed and so human.

Alright-- this got a little disturbing.

You know exactly what parts I'm talking about if you've read it!

Loved the Genie aspect-- which there was more variety-- but like with the Egyptians, it's not really about them, now is it?

Not my favorite of the series so far but I did love the part with the Jinn's Garden. Pandora and her friends track "Rage" into Persia and meet up with old friends and new friends.

*Spoiler* Alcie also makes an appearance in the underworld and makes a wonderful come back!

Very well done. I really enjoyed the Persian dieties, the genies, and the interesting magics that were part of the "Rage" story. I also really hope that Pandora gets to see Dougan again in the future.

This one was always my favorite book in the series, and I think it’s because of all the vivid descriptions. The Underworld, The Garden of Jinn, Mahfouza’s house...it was all so clear when I pictured it, does that make sense? The fruit-based body horror was also pretty cool albeit creepy.

It was the same overall plot, catching the evils, but the details and little scenes were very easy to picture and pretty clever. It was an easy book to get into and a quick and enjoyable read.
