It seems to be very easy to get a book published on the topic of table design and construction without knowing jack shit about table design or construction; this book isn't one of those.
None of the designs are revolutionary, but they're all basically decent and fool-proof projects for beginners. I doubt any of these tables will inspire you to rush off to the workshop on the spot, and a lot of them are clearly designed to demonstrate a point much more than to be beautiful furniture, but if you need a table you could certainly build one of these.
