This is the first book I've read by Joyce Meyer. I liked it, and the format (short, 2-3 page "chapters") made it easy to read bit by bit. I think her advice is good advice for anyone, though a lot of it fits into the "easier said than done" category...still, good stuff to work towards.
One thing that would have made the book better for me would have been for her to describe some of the things she was talking about in action. I kept thinking, Well, how would that look? What would you say if....
All in all though, I thought it was worth reading and would make my life and attitude better if I could put it into practice.
Joyce Meyer's "Woman to Woman" is a book of short essays concerning everyday subject matter and advice on how to deal with the issues at hand. Ranging from moving past feelings of hurt to finding more meaning in life, Meyer's essays are written as though she is speaking to the reader.
While not all readers may share Meyer's scriptural perspective, her common sense approach is sound. Well worth reading.
I enjoyed this book, but prefer to see Joyce speak in person. I read one section each day for the past few months. Like all books of this type some days "spoke" to me and other days it didn't. But, overall it was a good part of my daily bible study. Joyce comes from a pretty troubled background and that is shown in the different scenarios, etc...she mentions in this book.
I love this author and her Joyce Meyer Ministry program, however, some of her books are better than others. Overall, I usually like her style of writing and story-telling about her own past experiences to help other hurting women.
Good book on how women can improve themselves and their lives through faith in and relationship with God and how to let go of worry, anxiety, anger, etc.
This power book, I read about 3 chapters for each day so I can meidate on each topic that she discussed about. It really helped me to get Closer to God when I felt very lost or didnt feel His present.
Talk about things every women deal with such a stree, worryment, emotions and self rejection.
Inspirational, relatable. I love Joyce Meyer. This book touches on everything that a woman will go through in her life. Whether you are in a bad place, or just want some inspiration, I highly recommend this book.
I really enjoyed the book. It was full of many insights and lessons. I felt as tho Joyce was with me and we were having wonderful conversations regarding God and life. Would recommend to all women!
So far it is very good it relates to everyday life for a womam from a woman's point. Using the Bible she helps women to understand things. So I better get back to reading it.
An amazing book!! I could really feel like Lord working on my heart and mind all throughout this book!! Joyce speaks such wisdom throughout this book and strongly encourage any woman to read it!! It did something in me!💗
The author makes some good points and there was a lot that I could agree with. But there is something about the way she writes that doesn’t sit well with me.
Summary I love reading books that were written by this author; she is focused on teaching the Word of God and explaining how we are able to incorporate the word into our daily lives. Woman to woman is one of those books that touch every aspect of a woman’s life. The writer focuses on key issues that affect each and every woman at some stage in their lives. I have found that each of these issues that have been highlighted was prevalent at some time in my life. The book is easy to read and understand; constantly bringing the reader back to the Word of God with scriptures that make it understandable and how to incorporate the word into your own life. I believe that because experienced each of the issues she highlighted it was easy to express her in such a way that other woman could relate. The woman of today has a lot on their plates and as the writer says we all wear different “hats”. Social/Historical Context Woman to woman is based on the writers live experiences and how she learned to trust in God Almighty with all the issues she faced. The message she wants to bring across is that we can do even better when we have someone on our team. That someone is the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe because the writer has a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ it is possible for her to reveal all the key elements to make one journey that much easier. Writing Style The writer definitely knows what she is talking about; she has personal experience in these matters and has valid answers which can assist a woman in similar circumstances. The writing style is commonplace as well as evocation. The writer is narrating her own life story and how she dealt with numerous circumstances with an ability to constantly draw on God’s help. My thoughts As Christian woman today we need to learn how to deal with issues in our lives, the writer has the ability to bring the Word of God into her writing, based on facts and circumstances. The writer has to my mind a living relationship with the Lord God. I believe many of the key issues that the writer wrote about are exactly what I have been struggling with in my own life and now I can see another person’s perspective on how to deal and relate to these issues. You cannot fail in purchasing this book, it can only help you move forward in life and help you build a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, I would definitely say this is a good read and you cannot go wrong in reading this well written, easy to read Book.
I didn't feel this was one of Joyce's better books. Felt there was a lot more me, me, me than here is what God says. I was only able to read a little over half before I couldn't push myself to finish it.
