Simply Indian: Sweet and Spicy Recipes from India, Pakistan and East Africa

Rate this book
Samosas, Rotis, Tandoori Chicken, and Biryani are just a sampling of the vast cuisine that India has developed. And although many Indian dishes have unique and complex flavoring, they need not be complicated to create in your own kitchen. This new book, written by two experienced teachers of Indian cooking, simplifies ingredients and traditional techniques. Try some chai for an elegant afternoon tea or make some Masala Chicken served with a Biryani, Raita, and Naan Bread for a royal feast. Simply Indian also features a wide variety of meatless dishes for a complete vegetarian meal.

Rawji's cookbook is the best Indian-style cookbook I could have possibly stumbled across! My boyfriend is from Kenya, so I have been on a personal journey to learn to cook some of his favourite foods as a way to bring him closer to home while he studies in our current Canadian city. Every recipe I have followed from Simply Indian has been the closest tasting to his favourite meals, if not better! The recipes are easy to follow and incredibly fun to prepare- I even learned how to make Rasmalai for the first time :) I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to practice eastern cooking or maybe even find their next favourite meal!

For a relatively small cookbook there are quite a few great recipes and well organized.
