Loved this so much. The illustrations are beautiful and every turn of the page explains a tarot card, the major and minor arcana. The binding is superb - worth to collect! Therefore, I'll have to get more books in this series to adorn a nice corner of my shelf.
A quick reference guide for tarot readings; short descriptions and interpretations for each card. Beautiful colour prints and a stunning binding - makes for a lovely collector's item or coffee table book. I did notice that the writing at the bottom of each picture card had been printed, instead of the original hand lettering - no idea why this was substituted, maybe to avoid a copyright claim?
I found the writing style to be a bit too casual in places, some weird phrases here and there and not perfectly edited even though this is not the first edition; I found a fair few typos.
I did not agree with some of the descriptions, e.g. Four of Swords was described as a figure resting or sleeping when it's clearly a picture of an effigy on a grave. The rationale for some of the interpretations was unclear to me, often the reverse of the card had a the opposite meaning to the upright one (which makes sense to me), but sometimes it had the same meaning only intensified.
I have read different books on the Rider-Waite deck cards, this one is the best one yet. Very simple to the point, a summary upright, reverse and a description of each card with the picture of the card. And the picture cards are big to see the details as it is written.
