In the Footsteps of Saint Clare: A Pilgrim's Guide Book

Rate this book
This is a Pilgrim's Guide Book. This book provides guidance to pursue the spirituality of St. Clare at the places where she lived and where her body lies. Places like Assisi, San Rufino, Sant' Angelo in Panzo, San Damiano, San Giorgio, Basilica of Saint Clare, Portiuncula, Perugia, San Paolo, and the Umbrian Valley. Four different aspects of consideration are provided for each 1) Clare's life experience at the place; 2) the historical background of the location; 3) meditative reading and $) reading suggestions for further study. Communing with Clare in the places where she lived opens us to a deeper understanding of the inner life that inflamed her heart. Her courageous exit from her noble home to a life of poverty at San Damiano has a timeless message for other Franciscans and for those who are yearning,, consciously or unconsciously, to discover God. As pilgrims who come to know Clare and follow her example, we will slow down, listen and gaze, and then arrive at the portal for mystical union with God.

A new printing, binding and cover change were completed in 2010 on this book.

If you need understanding of Saint Clare this is a great book for the Novice to read. It explores her life through the settings important to her life. There are great quotes from people who knew her personally. Beautifully detailed drawings and maps accompany this book for a pilgrimage similar to actually being there yourself.
