Hooked! A fantastic collection of poems. Expertly crafted work that evokes the spirit of the natural world and explores our left of centre positioning within it. That slight disjointed relationship that accurately serves to remind us that our default state is one of distinct otherness to everything we intersect.
How do we navigate the loss of someone close, when we know we were never able to be as close as we should have been? Is there a guilt in that? A shame?
It is something I explore often, that separateness of being human around other being so intimately similar and yet extraordinary isolate.
Birds floats over the stanzas as a pleasing and aptly placed motif.
