Rancher Dee MacLeod needs a man in the worst way. Trouble is, since Jake Reynolds left her ten years ago, she can't find a man who scratches that itch like Jake did. She's hot and horny, but she hides her blazing passion beneath a cool, distant exterior. Her ranch hands call her "Ice Queen." Ha. If they only knew… Jake Reynolds, the one man who knows just how fiery Dee can be, thought he'd gotten the sexy redhead out of his system. But when he moves back to Arizona, he learns the truth...he's still in love with her. He's realized what an idiot he was to leave, and now Jake will stop at nothing to get Dee's hot body back in his bed. He intends to do whatever it takes to win her heart again, this time for keeps.

Cheyenne McCray fell in love with reading and writing early, deciding in kindergarten that one day she would become an author. Today, she is an award-winning New York Times and USA Today bestselling fiction author who’s sold millions of books worldwide. Having published more than 100 novels and novellas in contemporary and paranormal romance, urban fantasy and romantic suspense, she is now also writing cozy mysteries as Deb Ries.

Chey grew up on a ranch in southeastern Arizona and delights in creating stories of suspense, love, and redemption with characters and worlds her readers can get lost in. Chey and her equally geeky husband live with their two dogs, six ducks (the neighborhood celebrities), and a small flock of chickens in a small Arizona town where she enjoys gardening, crazy quilting and, of course, writing.

Whew!! I find myself in need of a glass of icewater after this book.( see the rare 5 star rating) I wouldn't mind owning a horse again either to experience the on-horseback love scene. Very hot! ;)
Wildfire is the start of a series surrounding a small country town and the mystery of the missing cattle. This first book is about Jake and Dee who had been teenage lovers but had gone their seperate ways 10 years before. Dee had never gotten over the heartache from Jake's leaving or the passion only he could fire in her. The sex is very inventive and fun as we watch Jake try and win back the heart of the woman he loves. The characters interact well together and this book left me wanting more. I also enjoyed how the end of the book leads into the next book. It's a nice touch.

This was a really great book...the story about Dee and Jake...their past is riddled with heartbreak. Jake and Dee were once happily in love until Jake all but ran away from commitment with Dee.
Dee vowed to never let anyone get that close again but then she is sideswiped when Jake Reynolds comes busting in her barn ready to arrest Imp after he hears Dee scream...all the while Imp glares at Jake from his stall where he is standing waiting for the next person to attempt to tame him of his headstrong calf self.

There is so much going on in the background of this story...we are set up with characters like Dee's sister, Jess, Catie, Sheriff Savage as well as a few others. We also have a mystery on our hands in this story...all the ranchers are having a problem with their cattle being stolen during the night.
I have my suspicions as to who is behind it but as of the end of this book we still don't know yet who is/are the rustler's behind stealing the cattle.

All in all this was a great read and I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Unimpressed. So there's been these cattle rustlers cutting down the fences. Who did it? Why put a mystery in a book if it isn't resolved?
The sex scenes are also immature. Let's see how many hand jobs and oral sex that occurs before they get around to finally having intercourse that is--"yawn"--beneath spectacular by description. The dialogue is also lame.
And you would think that for two people who have been apart for 10 years they would have, at least, found someone else to warm their beds in the interim. Celibacy is for monks and nuns.

Read this years & years ago when I was in what might be termed loosely as a "romantic phase".....though this was a bit more steamy than romantic!

It was quite a quick read as not a very long book & it might have benefited from a bit more actual story in it! Read it alongside it's "partner" "Wildcat" .

Spicy, doesn’t even begin to explain this book. I was unable to read the whole thing and had to reach chapter by chapter due to its intensity. You will be needing a nice, ice cold shower. Such a juicy read. Wishing this was my sex life.

I find this little ditty while scrolling through stacks of erotic cowboy stories yesterday. Cheyenne McCray has been around a while, but I haven't really delved into this work much. I'm glad I did. "Wildfire" is a well-done story for its genre, and there's enough characterization and story-telling to keep me interested beyond the action in the sheets - or the barn - or the saddle - or the pick up - nevermind. There certainly is a lot of screwing going on, and I had to drop a point to my rating because it was too much in light of the background story - cattle rustling and possible smuggling on the Arizona/Mexico border. Our hero is a Customs agent, our gal a ranch owner in a border town. Their main priority? Yup, pheromones hit again.

Still, I enjoyed the story and the characters, and have moved on to the next book in the series.

Good sexy read from an established author.
Jake broke Dee's heart when she was 19 and he was 22 by running away from the intensity of their relationship.
10 years later Jake is back and this time he's not going let go of Dee.
Throw in a side-story involving rustlers and some secondary characters who will have future stories of their own.

Fantastic read by one of my favorite authors and one of my favorite story lines, second chance at love! Throw in a sexy cowboy/agent determined to win his girl back and some hot, steamy sex and I was hooked. A bonus for me - this is the first in a series of five, already written and connected stories so more good reading for me!

Wow. I really enjoyed this book. Totally hot cowboy agent with a single minded mission to get Dee. Really live Dee's friend Catie giving sheriff savage a piece of her mind.
