What is it with crochet books and Eve? Like from Adam & Eve? No, thank you, I don't want a shirt with giant leaves on it.

With a name like Kooky Crochet, I was thinking fun, sort of practical goodies. You know, like normal scarves and pot holders with a twist. What I got was a book filled with things no one would ever want (or need). The arm and leg warmers on the cover are made with mason twine and washers...yep, I'm sure thats comfortable! There's also rock covers and hand puppets.

The reason this gets 2/5 is because there is one really cool pattern in there for a cup holder. It even has little pockets for suger and a holder for the stirrer. That's pretty awesome, but otherwise, waste of time.

Clearly not a traditional crochet book. Some of the patterns were a bit too eccentric for me, and some impractical (the egg potholder, for example, was cute and clever, but not what I want to do with my yarn stash), but I could see a young hipster or college student really digging these.

Funky, whacky crochet projects. Most are too bizarre for mainstream taste but an alternative trendy teen or college student would love it.

These oddities are just that: odd. Not whimsical (except the amigurimi birds, maybe), just wild projects.
Thank goodness it was a library book.
