This book covers everything in the Barista Basics course established by the authors and run in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Having done the course I can say it was excellent. It provided a clear and practical approach to creating great coffee. In reality, the course didn't do much more than make you aware of how difficult it was and how much time you'd have to spend practising until you became good at making coffee. But it did give you the knowledge to know what you should be doing and a clear path to improvement.
This book is the perfect refresher or handy reference.
There's a heap of mystic surrounding coffee and loads of appalling cups sold everyday, so hopefully this book will help raise the quality of coffees served around the world (if you can get hold of it)... especially in the UK where it can be really hard to find good coffee...

Very simply written - a terrific introduction and overview of the coffee industry inclusing the business and home espresso side. This is not designed to be encyclopedic or complex, but a readable, simple introduction.
