time: haiku of Marcus Larsson

Rate this book
“Marcus Larsson’s latest — final? — collection of haiku offers a wistful, even elegiac, meditation on departures. But this is also a paean of gratitude for the gifts that sustain us along the a child’s laughter, a saved snapshot, a shared sunset, the night sky. For all the vicissitudes that time brings, the poet — and we — cannot help but conclude “there is nothing / we want to get rid of”. Larsson picks up the threads of family and relationship that his readers have come to expect and enjoy. The community is aging, and largely with grace, we are glad to see, bringing a degree of acceptance and some glimpses of wisdom to the elders, along with a gradual relinquishing of the reins to the next generation — about whom they will never cease to worry.
