Wow this one annoyed me. Most Junie B. does. But I believe this is the first one I read (heard) from cover to cover. The voices of the narrator fit a 5 year old. And it's not that I found the characters annoying. They had their cute points. I just don't like how these books are written. Yes I know most Kindergartners don't speak well at that age, but it bugs me to have it in a book. How are we to teach children correct grammar if its incorrect in the books? One reason my editing professor said I was so good at grammar was probably due to all of the reading that I did growing up. So....

Delightful! My 7-year-old daughter told me I HAD to read this book because it was SO funny. I've never read a Junie B. Jones book before, and I wasn't hopeful. But I thought it was hilarious and charming.

I was shocked that Junie B. Jones is a believable narrator.

I'm convinced that anyone who doesn't like these books doesn't have any kids.

Junie B. and her friend Grace were waiting for their friend Lucille before school bevcause they were waiting for her to play horses with them. They didn't see her anywhere until they spotted her being chased by a new evil boy. Junie B. and Grace chased that boy and shooed him away, in that moment Lucille told them that he was not an evil boy, his name was Warren and he was very handsome, Junie B. and Grace looked at him and wanted him to be their boyfriend. Lucille got very mad at them and went away. In their class, Junie B. wanted to be friends again with Lucille because Junie B. wanted to meet Warren, Junie B. showed Lucille that she was a big fat pig and thqat she was a princess soi there was no way she was going to steal Warren away from her. At reccess, Lucille introduced Warren to Junie and Grace, Junie B. covered her eyes and started laughing and rolling around for no reason. Warren though she was a nutball and went away with Lucille and Grace. Mrs. whistled so that everyonje could come in for class when, Lucille and Grace came to pick up Junie B. because she was still roling on the floor. Junie B. started thinking about why Warren had called her a nut ball meanwhile Lucille and Grace were fighting about Warren, Grace said she could love anyone she wanted meanwhile Lucille said she promised that she wouldn't steal Warren away from her.Junie kept on thinking about Warren and her being a nutball that she didn;t talk in the whole rest of the day nit even on the bus until Grace told her that she knew why Warren had called her like that, because she really was a nutball who rolled around the floor. The next day was Saturday, Junie B. gave all her sugar cereal to her dog and then he threw up, her mom and dad got really mad at her and Jnuie B. started eating cereal fibers all day and Sunday until Monday. In the bus, Junie B. showed Grace how calmed she was and how Warren could love her now, Grace got mad at that. The bus stopped and Junie B. ran towards Handsome Warren but, Grace showed Warren how fast she could run and Lucille showed him her new velvet dress, then, Junie B. showed him how she could sleep on the ground for him to see how calm she was, Warren made the cuckoo sign and left with Lucille and Grace. That night at dinner with her family, Junie knew how to make Warren love her, she had to have princess dress and running shoes to run fast. She told her mom to hurry up because they were going to the mall. Her mom disagreed when Junie B. saw a velvet ribbon on ateddy bear and in that moment, she knew that maybe she might have princess clothes in her house.

When Junie B. Jones spots a new boy on the playground from Room Eight her eyes pop out of her head! He is handsome, that's why! But Handsome Warren thinks Junie B. is nothing short of a nutball. What's a girl to do when all she wants is that boy to love her? The way a kindergartener's mind thinks in this book is absolutely hysterical! I was literally laughing out loud! Reading how Junie B. tries to impress Warren in her idea of princess clothes will make anyone laugh. This book, as well as any in this series, can make a great read aloud or just a great book for those students who are learning to read on their own. There is without a shadow of a doubt that I highly recommend any of these books! I can see children falling in love with Miss Junie B. just like I have!

Probably the best Junie B. Jones book that I've read so far.

Junie B. and her friends all have a crush on Warren and compete for his affection. Junie B. eventually learns that all she needs to do is be herself in order to befriend him.

Junie B. Jones and her friends, Lucille and Grace, are all in kindergarten. They get a new kid at their school, Warren,. Junie, Grace, and Lucille all have a crush on Warren. Junie and Grace get jealous when Lucille is all over Warren. Junie tries everything to get Warren's attention. She tries to change things about herself so that Warren will like her. The way Junie acts around Warren is crazy. In the end Junie's mom tells her to just be herself.

Junie B. Jones is very crazy. She acts immature for her age. She always has to get her way and be right about everything. Grace is more kind than the others. Lucille is a spoiled brat. She is very selfish and thinks she's better than everyone.

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars. For me, this book was too easy of a read. I did like the message that the book gave. Just being yourself should be good enough. You shouldn't change who you are just so others like you. I would recommend this book to kids ages 5 and up. Girls will prefer this book more than guys. This is a very good children's book .

I think you should read this book because it's very humorous.Like for example the character Junie B. jones just by what she doe's is funny.Like when she makes jokes that make you laugh so hard you cry and fall on the floor!Also it's funny to watch her try to change her appearance for a boy that she likes and she wants him to notice her.

Don't take my word for it,read the book and you will fall in love with the characters like I did

Plot:
In this book, Junie gets a new boy in her class and all the girls think he the cutest boy they have ever seen. When Junie first sees this boy, he is chasing her friend around the park. Junie gets so jealous she ran up to the boy, but when she got to him, she got so nervous that she fell on the ground and started laughing really loud. When Warren saw her doing this he called her a nut and walked away with Junies other friends. After they where gone, she was really sad and did not talk to anybody for the rest of the day. The next day, one of her friends showed Warren how pretty her dress was and her other friend showed him how fast she could run. Warren was very impressed with those things so Junie walks in front of him, lays on the ground, and says she was taking a nap so she could show him that she could be calm and was not nuts. He found this even crazier and walked away again. Then, the next day she came to school with a princess dress and her super fast shoes on and showed Warren that she was just like her friends. After she showed him everything she could do, he said they could be friends and she was very happy.

Characterization:
The main character in this book is Junie Jones and she is a crazy little girl. In this book her emotions go from being in awe from seeing handsome Warren to being mad and jealous all at once. Junie is also really happy at the end because all of her hard work paid off to get Warren to like her.

Audience:
I would recommend this book to any one first grade through middle school. This book is a easier reading level and it is told from the point of view of a girl around that age. I also think that either a girl or boy would like this book because it is funny.

Personal Response:
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I really liked this book and all of the other Junie B. Jones books I have read because they are funny and I can relate to having crushes being that age.

I finished reading the book "Junie B. Jones loves handsome Warren," by Barbara Park. I thought the book was actually humorous. Junie acts just like any of us teenagers use to act if we liked someone when we were younger.

Warren is a new kid at Junie's school. One of Junie's friends, Lucy, is Warren's girlfriend. Junie likes Warren and wants to be his girlfriend instead of Lucy. Her plan is to act just like Lucy so that Warren will fall in love with her. Junie's mom found out about what she was doing and told Junie that she cannot do that. She told her she can not act like someone else to another person. Her mom told her to just be herself. Junie listened to her mom and was being herself. Warren and Junie started to joke around and talk a lot. They then became good friends by the end of the book.

The main characters are Junie and Warren. They are about six years old in elementary school. Junie is smart and is very funny. She always has to have any situation go her way. She wanted to date Warren, so she tried anything she could just to get him to like her. She gets taught good lessons in each book. Warren is in the same grade as Junie. He seems like a nice kid, and he is very handsome according to Junie.

The setting of the book is at Junie's elementary school, in the kindergarten classroom. It takes place in current day.

The thematic connection that the author is telling is to be yourself. Do not try to act like someone else just so you can get attention from others. That will only make others look down at you. Be yourself, and everything will be as it should.

I would recommend this book to any kids in elementary school. It teaches a good lesson to just be yourself. Most of the kids can relate to Junie, so it could help anyone.

Plot:
This book is about a young kindergarten girl who meets a new boy when he is new at school. Her friends do not want to be friends with him, but when she comes home she tells her mom about the new boy. She told her to be herself and that she should be friends with him because he is new and that he probably does not have any friends. When she gets to school the next day she starts to talk the the new kid, named Warren. They start telling each other knock knock jokes and before you know it they are best of friends. They start hanging out everyday at recess and her other friends get mad and stop hanging out with her. Junie does not really get mad because she has the new boy to talk to.

Characterization:
I chose to do the character on Warren because he really caught my attention in the beginning of the book. When Junie starts talking to him, I can tell she really starts to like this boy. Warren is a new boy that is in Junie's class and does not have any friends, until Junie gets in the picture.

Audience:
I would recommend this book to elementary students, more likely third through 5th graders because they could actually understand what is going on in the book. The kindergartners could relate to the story because they're the same age.

Rate:
I would rate this book three out of five stars because this book is for children under the age of 9 years old.

Grace and Junie are jealous because they like him, too. When Junie tries to talk to him, she does not act like herself and he calls her a nut ball. Junie tries to change everything about herself so that Warren will like her and not think she is a nut ball. Junie's mom tells her that she just needs to be herself.

The main characters in this book are Junie B. Jones, Grace, Lucille, and Warren. Junie is very immature and loud. Grace is the fasted runner in the kindergarten class. Lucille is spoiled and selfish. She only thinks about herself and no one else. Warren is shy and quiet. He is new to the school, so he does not know a lot of people. He is very nervous about meeting new friends.

I gave this book two stars. I would recommend this book to anyone the age of 6 to 10 years old. It is a good read for both genders, but I feel like more girls would like it rather than boys. I did not care for this book very much, but I think for this age group it would be a good book. It is not challenging to read for anyone over the age of 6.

We meet Junie, a kindergartener, who fancies a boy named Warren (along with most of her friends). Junie tricks her friend Lucille into introducing her to Warren. Despite her friend’s annoyance, Junie eventually ends up rolling on the ground in laughter with Warren. While the writing is age-appropriate for younger children, my main complaint is the abundance of improper grammar (“I quick hided behind my hands,” “Mother screamed real loud”). Younger children should be exposed to proper grammar and not subjected to a dumbed down version that may be more colloquial. [return][return]Children, though, do not care about the improper grammar or improper behavior of Junie; the books practically fly off of the shelves. I can put out ten of them and they will be gone by mid-morning. Part of what may appeal to our young readers is the fact that these are very easy chapter books; part of the appeal may also be Junie's dramas--and drama is always entertaining.

There's a new boy in kindergarten named Warren. Junie B. and her two best friends Lucille and Grace all want him to be their boyfriend.

My niece who is 6 took this book out in French last week (she is in French immersion). And so she wanted to read the English version this week.

It was a little bit silly that all three girls decided they loved Warren. My niece is in grade 1 and her friends (and her) don't really even like boys.

As usual there are a lot of grammatical errors. But I try to correct some of the really bad ones as I'm reading (I don't want my niece to learn to speak that way).

The story was sort of funny. My niece loved it. I guess kids think Junie B. is super funny. Cute read!

While as an adult I found it highly annoying to read this book I think I can understand why some children would like to read it. Junie B. Jones does some things children would think are hilarious. I'm sure some kindergarteners have horrible grammar like Junie B. Jones and I know Barbara park wrote the book that way on purpose but as an adult I found it to be an odd juxtaposition of funny and downright annoying. Looking beyond that I did laugh as Junie B. Jones tries to get Handsome Warren to love her just like he loves her friends. I'd probably keep a few of these Junie B. Jones books around my library for the children just starting chapter books.

I owned so many Junie B. Jones books, if only I could remember where I put them...

I rated every book that I read during childhood 5 stars.
Why? Well because that was a time in my life when I loved every single thing I read. And because they bring back fond memories. Ah, the joys of being young!

I was in a bit of a reading slump and wanted something that was quick read. The illustrations are really adorable too. It made me smile and laugh. Barbara knows how to hook her readers in right from the first page! This book is hilarious! It's so refreshing to see such a strong character that has such bold confidence. I love how she's a social butterfly and has a small circle of friends. She doesn't put up with people bullying her. It's so cute so see this from Junie B's kindergarten perspective. Now, she does say some questionable things sometimes but other than that, she's a really innocent girl. In chapter 3, she experienced some insecurity when Warren called her a nutball. There's a reoccurring love square throughout the book between Lucille, Warren, Grace and Junie B. One thing I don't like about Lucille is that she rubs her expensive things in everyone's faces. Warren wasn't really nice to Junie B. It was clear that Junie B was very much jealous of Grace and Lucille's materialistic things. She wanted so desperately what they had. I'd highly recommended this if you're in a down mood or just want a quick read.

I'm amazed at how many of Junie B's situations are ones that we actually run into in kindergarten! In this one, Junie learns a little lesson about what it means when you actually like someone. Her little friend group is competing for a boy's attention, but the boy gets really annoyed and is lonely- He just needs a friend that cares about him, and of course Junie can do that!
