The "After Happily Ever After" series starts where the happily ever after ends. In this book the frog prince has already been changed back into a prince and is married to the princess who kissed him. His only problem is that he longs for the time when he was a frog and frequently goes back to the pond to be with his froggy friends. The princess, however, cannot understand his longing.
It was a book about the Frog prince and his love of the big pond. He spent most of his time in the pond and his wife did not like that. She wanted him to pick her or the pond. He even tried to make her like the pond and his frog friends. He gave her everything he could think of for her bithday... It was good but too short.
This whole series is based on the premise of what comes next after the more 'official' fairy tale. In this story the Frog Prince isn't adjusting well to life away from his pond. The princess doesn't understand. In the end they do find a way to come together, which is sweet. The story is cute and funny, but not my faovite in the series.
It's a story about the world after the end of "the frog prince hops to it." I think it's a good book for my younger daughter. I'll suggest her this book with " the frog prince hops to it."
Our oldest brought this book home from her elementary school library. It's a fun story about what happens after the end of the fairy tales. After the happy ending of the fairy tale, Freddy misses his friends at the old pond. He has a difficult time convincing his wife about his attachment to it, but once the pond is threatened, they find some common ground. The narrative is entertaining and the black and white illustrations complement the story nicely.
We enjoyed reading this story together and our oldest assures us that there are more of the books in the After Happily Ever After series at her elementary school library, so she is planning to borrow more.
