This book is not only a memory training guide but also a record of average person's memory improvement. The author tease outs the memory training methods in the ancient and modern scientific research, summing up own memory training process, methods and results of the past one year, including how to build a memory palace and elaborated codes for memory and other detailed methods, which sounds really fantasy but actually easy to put into practice. It reveals the mystery of the memory and provides us with a new understanding and cognition on memory, thinking ability and creativity.
I used this book to remember a ladies number at the beach when I didn’t have my phone, 3 hours later I still remembered and had a great night with that same evening. Worth the read
Interesting read- was more journey/story centric as compared to detailed emphasis on memory learning techniques and challenges with adoption e.g. Memory palace. Had less practical implications- learning deck of cards, random numbers and people names has little translation to real life information and knowledge.
i really enjoyed this book. it explored memory in all aspects (both the good and the bad), the memory techniques were really interesting & the story was inspiring. the epilogue rounded the book out nicely & tied it all back to holistic memory and the effects of these practices outside of their specific functions.
Everything is possible with practice, we know this already but I didn't know how much it also applies to our memory! The book was beneficial for me, a new side i didnt know about how we remember things, and how you can reach new heights with focus and a goal in mind.
