Started strong with brief but meaningful accounts of unselfish love and kindness; I can say I was motivated to do better myself. But now, just one day later, I struggle to retain any examples of real depth or that were new lessons for me. These reminders can certainly benefit me, but I wonder if they will, either consciously or unconsciously.

I have to be honest, the only reason I chose this book was for its author. Max Lucado. He is a phenomenal writer and I have always enjoyed reading and learning from his books. This one was no exception. This book– simply put– is another of many wonderfully well written books by an author who has such a profound way of making us think beyond ourselves.

One of the most riveting stories, for me, was of a Franciscan priest imprisoned in a death camp in February of 1941. This story not only touched my heart, it spoke to my soul. This man of Christ loved with such ferocity that he was willing to give up his own life to save that of a complete stranger’s. How much more awe inspiring can it get than such a Christ-like love? Each story is just as good as this one; the more I read, the more I wanted to continue reading.

If there is anyone in your life who has touched you in such a way; who has made a difference even in the smallest way, this book is a great gift to them. If there is someone you know who may be going through a particularly hard time right now, this book would be a great gift for them as well. It not only expresses heartfelt gratitude, but a love that extends from each and every page. Each story touches the heart and says “You are remarkable” in its own way and leaves you with a feeling of incredible peace and hope. Each page is beautifully illustrated; and each story includes scripture or quotes.

I binge-read this little book in one night, and it was a sweet, inspiring compilation of touching stories. An excellent read for anyone needing a reminder of how God works through even the most unlikely of people.

I purchased this audiobook book from CHIRP. This is a very easy book to listen to... Max takes stories from everyday life and relates each one to scriptures, leaving you with a comforting understanding that God is always present with us, guiding and directing our path. RECOMMENDED.

"Was God in charge of the world before you were born?
Yes.
Will He be in charge after you're gone?
Yes.
Then how about you let Him take charge in the present?"

You changed my life is an inspirational collection of short stories. Each story tells of one human beings love, compassion, kindness or other unselfish act towards another. The stories are sure to warm the heart of the reader and encourage the soul. Just as water feeds a plant, these stories feed the heart and fill it with an abundant treasure of goodness. This coffee table sized book was 188 pages of encouragement. In a world of evil and unkind acts, this book sheds light on the good and kind attributes of life and the human nature.

The book did not take me long to read. It is a wonderful book to give as a gift to someone who has changed your life or simply as encouragement. I wish the publishers had included a few blank pages in the front of the book for a personal note. I would love to write a note to my mom in the front letting her know how she has changed my life before she dives into the other stories. It seemed to be the only thing missing from this book. You changed my life was full of wonderful quotes along with vivid pictures to accompany each story. It would be a great book for encouragement or gift giving.

Max Lucado’s, You Changed my Life: Stories of Real People with Remarkable Hearts, is one of those reads that is bound to challenge, inspire, and change your life. It is a short read with small but hugely powerful stories. Designed to give as a gift to someone who has changed your life, it even comes with space for you to write your own story of appreciation to the receiver of the book. There are many stories of unknown heroes who had courage to do both small and big things that impacted someone’s life for the better. Some of these actions took great courage, while others may be easily overlooked. They are separated into different categories from compassion to friendship. These stories are accompanied by pictures that inspire my love of photography and little inspirational quotes. It’s the perfect size for a “coffee table” book and the stories are the perfect size for any library. Some stories you may recognize from other works by Lucado, but every one will inspire you to tell the people in your life just how much they matter in yours. We often do not thank those who change our lives, but they are exactly who we do not want to overlook. This book is a great way to thank them!

Title: YOU CHANGED MY LIFE
Author: Max Lucado
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
September 2010
ISBN: 978-1-4041-8783-2
Genre: Inspirational/gift book

Kind people not only say good morning, they make the coffee.

YOU CHANGED MY LIFE is written for the kind people in your life. The one that stepped in when you were down and out and said or did something that was unselfish, generous, sacrificing, and very kind.

The book is divided up into eight parts:

1. Love
2. Kindness
3. Commitment
4. Compassion
5. Hope
6. Courage
7. Wisdom
8. Friendship.

Each section has a collection of short stores that goes with it that beautifully illustrates the point. Some of the stories made me cry, and others were very sweet, but they all focused on someone helping someone in need out.

YOU CHANGED MY LIFE is a gift book to give to anyone who made a difference in your life, for any reason. A just because book. And because we all know such a person who made your life better, let’s take a moment to say thank you. $15.99 hardcover. 188 pages.

Full of short stories of real people who have made a difference in the life of others, this book was incredibly touching. Designed as a gift book, there’s a place for you to write how a person has changed your life in the front. We all have those people in our lives who have made life a little bit easier. These stories reminded me of the little things that have been done for me and helped me remember that it is sometimes the littlest of things that we do that make a real difference in the life of others. This would not only be a great gift but would also be a great book to use as conversation starters for devotions or small group gatherings.

Max Lucado’s You Changed My Life is all about loving people and making a difference in their lives. A marvelous gift book to someone you know have made a difference in yours. I can think of a few people who have made a difference in my own life and that makes me want to just paste my own stories on them in the book. Such and then some, is the impact of a life invested to minister to another.

You Changed My Life by Max Lucado.....I just don't know how to express how much I love this book! It is one of those "coffee table books" I guess you could say. But, it is a book I opened and did not put down until I read it from cover to cover. The stories are amazing and really touch your heart. The pictures are phenomenal. The way this book was put together is genius!!! A great gift to someone you love. The quotes throughout the book make you sit back and think. I think my favorite story from the book was A Kiss Of Kindness. I will be looking into more books from Max Lucado!

This was a gift for my birthday this year and I loved it. I confess it is from a friend at work and that made it a special book in any case (especially with the inscription within).

What I marvel at are Max's stories and how he relates those stories to how individuals can make major differences in the lives of others without necessarily intending to do so.

I love really great inspirational stories and I love the way that Max is able to tell them in depth with so few words. That's a rare gift and one I don't have but appreciate all the same!

This book was an inspiration on how I want to live my life so I'll keep trying to do better. I'd like to share this one with so many people I know! I love the way he writes but I realized most of his writings that I've read are children's stories. Guess I'd better head back to the bookstore.
