In this exciting sequel to Fawnskin, many mysteries are solved, mysteries which sprang from a young drifter’s job at the Lakeside Funeral Home.
Ever since Knox fell asleep and released Harold Herxhiemer’s spirit, the town of Fawnskin has never been the same, and probably never will again.
As Knox’s and Rallus’ relationship blossoms, a dark cloud begins to move into Fawnskin, a cloud from Knox’s past that threatens to rip him away from the man he so passionately loves. And those who were presumed silenced forever continue to walk, descending on Fawnskin and seeking their revenge.
What will happen to the citizens of this fair town? Will Rallus and Knox find the answers they seek, or will unseen forces hold the town in its grip and destroy everyone and everything in its wake?
NOTE: Don't miss the final Fawnskin book, coming 2011 from Amber Allure!
A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled.
A.J’s passion for the islands led to writing a play about the last ruling monarch of Hawaii, Queen Lili’uokalani as well as a non-erotic novel about the overthrow of her kingdom written in diary form from her maid’s point of view.
A.J. never lacks inspiritation for male/male erotic romances and on the rare occasion this happens, pursues other passions such as collecting books on Hawaiiana, surfing and spending time with friends and animal companions.
A.J. Llewellyn believes that love is a song best sung out loud.
As fantastic as the first book, and a very worthy sequel, Frenzied had me fascinated from page one. Even knowing a little better what to expect in terms of "genre elements" that I'm not very used to (like ghosts, or dybbuks, that possess people), the story was still full of surprises. Of course it was, you'll say, this was written by A.J. Llewellyn and D.J. Manly, after all. And you'd be right.
I loved the revelations about Rallus and Knox (mainly Knox's past), and how their relationship grew. The mystery about the deaths at the old people's home continues to haunt them, as do some old and some very disquieting new enemies. But they stick it out together this time, and that made the whole 'mess' more bearable for me.
The book is fast paced, action packed, carries several storylines, and makes it all come together in the end as well. As for the ending? I've got to warn you - you'll think it's all solved, but nothing could be further from the truth. The last few paragraphs almost knocked me over - and I can't wait for the third book!
OK so this book was AWESOME and ended on a MASSIVE cliffhanger 5 YEARS AGO WITH PROMISES EVERYWHERE THAT BOOK #3 IS BEING RELEASED IN 2011 and it's nowhere to be found. I have spent hours looking for it.
So if you're going to write a trilogy then do it, I would never do or say anything like this ever BUT, because it was promoted everywhere to be released during 2011 I obviously have an issue with that and there is not a retraction or "sorry I dropped the series" anywhere to be found. There might have been at the time but I can't find it.
Now I completely understand writers block, not to mention the high amount of different series and stand alone's well in excess of 100+ novels written since this one book was due, some of which are co-authored or in compilations/anthology's MEH!
The second instalment of Fawnskin kicks off a few weeks after the first one ended with Knox and Rallus returning from LA. The couple have grown closer and their relationship has deepened. The beginning of the book explains how Knox ended up in Fawnskin and his life before. And I have to say was not expecting the direction that DJ and AJ took with the backstory. This book packs a punch with so much going on, it's very fast paced with a lot of secondary characters. I loved all the storylines that wove together to produce the mystery and how they brought everything together at the end. I hope that they give us more about Rallus's history in the final book as there are quiet a few unanswered questions in my mind. Can't wait for the final instalment.
As fantastic as the first book, and a very worthy sequel, ‘Frenzied’ had me fascinated from page one. Even knowing a little better what to expect in terms of genre elements like ghosts, or dybbuks, that possess people, the story was still full of surprises. And that is almost as true the second time around – mainly because it’s been a few years since I read this story the first time. And if course there are surprises, you'll say, this was written by A.J. Llewellyn and D.J. Manly, after all. And you'd be right.
A.J. and D. J. - you never cease to amaze me! This was crazy fun from the first word to the last - well that is not true - the last sentence that said 'to be continued'...that was not very nice;)
OMG! What a harrowing ride! Frenzied is indeed aptly titled. I hope the continuation comes out soon! Looks like there is more in store for Knox and Rallus!
