Jethro is a bit of an enigma. He appears seemingly out of nowhere in the Bible, and shortly thereafter disappears back into the mists of antiquity. Many Christians know that Jethro was Moses’ father-in-law. Some might even know that Jethro taught excellent management principles to Moses so he could effectively judge the Israelites. However, do you know who Jethro really was? Even when he is mentioned in the Bible, he appears under several names. The same is true in historical records. So just who was the real Jethro? Where did Jethro come from? What became of his descendants? This book unravels the mystery of Jethro, his ancestors and his descendants. Prepare to be surprised as you read Jethro’s untold story.
It was an enjoyable book, but I feel like the author could have explored some of the rabbinic writings such as Rashi, and what they had to say about Jethro to make it a more complete. It was well written and the author makes persuasive arguments for his points, I just feel like some critical material was missed or left out.
