Although BRENDA RITTER has lived in Texas most of her adult life, she was born in Canada to a family whose roots were planted in New France more than 300 years ago. She began her writing career as a professional journalist and is the recipient of many honors and awards including the U.S. Congressional Achievement Award; Outstanding Journalism Awards from the Texas and Houston/Harris County Mental Health Associations; Outstanding Investigative Reporting from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association and 30 Writing Awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association. The 11th Hour of the 11th Day, as a work in progress, was a semi-finalist and fellowship winner in Concordia University’s 2012 Summer Literary Seminar. The 11th Hour of the 11th Day is Ritter’s first novel. She is the mother of eight adult children and lives with her husband Thomas in Weston Lakes, Texas where they devote much of their time to volunteer service. She is the current president of the more than 11,000 member Texas Retired Teachers Association District IV (Houston and four surrounding counties).
