The story was good with a different storyline plot twist. Matteo and Abigail had enough going for each of them to survive the "Dom/sex club scenario. The Christian Grey/50 Shades sex domination theme was the usual over emphasized portion of the book which dropped my rating by an entire point. I am very over books that need to include this element in order to entice readers to read their books especially when the story is solid enough to grasp a reader's attention without it. A story needs actual content ( which the author did provide) later in the book and a solid love story instead of a room full of sex toys. The loves scenes between the two characters were far sexier and sizzling than the sexual domination portion of the book which seemed pretty standard stuff.
The story is another "revenge trope" but does have some plot twists that make it far more interesting that the usual revenge trope. Diana and Marco add a level of deviance to the story with their sexual sadism and exploits. I will read Leo's story as long as the writer doesn't push the "Dom" theme too much. In my opinion, a little goes along way with men who must dominate women sexually in order to sell a book. Even 50 Shades books had a far reaching storyline other than the complete sexual domination of another human being.

Matteo knows how to play the game.
Matteo Ortega needs Abigail Kensington's assistance and he will make her cooperate one way or another. Matteo is a master at playing the game but he might have met his match in the woman some call the Ice Queen. Matteo discovers quickly what makes the beautiful ice queen, Abigail melt but she is still a force to be reckoned with and she can hold her own with Matteo. This is a great read and I am truly enjoying the books from the Ortega Mafia series.

Matteo Ortega has taken up the baton in the fight to stop his Stepmother Diana destroying the family legacy. To this end he has Abigail Kensington in his sights. The daughter of a powerful man, promised to the son of another equally powerful family and the obsession of the man his Stepmother loves he plans to use her to bring down Diana and her lover Mario.
Matteo takes and shows footage to Abigail of her fiance partying with whores to start his plan rolling.She surprises him by turning up at his adult club looking to lose her innocence and take back a small bit of control over her life. Unknown to Abigail, Matteo steps in and is happy to oblige knowing he can use this to control her later.
He blackmails Abigail's parents into" loaning" their daughter to him for the summer, Matteo plans to use her to kickstart his plan to destroy anyone who is involved in stealing his families business,starting with his Stepmothers lover. The plan to enrage Mario by stealing his obsession from under his nose, backfires when Mario takes Abigail and runs to the Dark Lords, the depraved secret society made up of powerful men who would love to see the Ortega family fall. The relationship between Matteo and Abigail has shifted well beyond either of their expectations and he is enraged, determined to bring down the Dark Lords, goes after Abigail. Diana who until now has worked with Mario offers to help rescue Abigail and takes Matteo and Cesare his righthand man to Mario.
The aftermath of this rescue brings more far reaching consequences than any of the Ortega brothers could forsee and they now face a war with a man more evil and powerful than the ones they have just destroyed.
It now falls to Leo the oldest Ortega brother to find and stop the last piece of the puzzle in the battle to stop Diana destroying everything they have worked for.
I love the little twist in the story for Cesare and can't wait for the next book but not wanting this series to end either.
If you haven't already read the Enforcer go back and do it now, it helps the flow of the story if you are aware of the events in that story.
As usual Stella has done us proud. She always grabs your attention right at the start and has you never wanting to say goodbye to the characters in each series she writes. This is no exception, you will love the overbearing definitely Alpha Ortega men.

TRUE, TRUE, TRUE!!! I really loved reading this book. Abigail and Matteo could not have been farther from the most diverse backgrounds from each other. Abigail surprised me. As the model untouched daughter of a billionaire inside she wanted to be free but did not know what that meant until she met Matteo. Because Matteo entered her life this led both of them down a road of love and danger. Matteo is as tough as a mafia man can be. Yet when Abigail was around him and she offered her love to him it moved him. She also offered something to him no one in his entire life ever has. This made falling in love with her deeper possible. There is a passage in the book that I felt was a profound way of how Matteo felt before Abigail.
" I have everything money can buy, but I am the poorest man I know because I’m alone. That I’ve always been alone is the saddest fact of all. "
There were moments where I could not help but smile such as when Abigail and Clarice were talking about their men. It was so romantic. Clarice is Caesar's woman that was kidnapped over a year ago that he had been desperately searching for. When he found her it was such a tender desperate reunion. It was moving.
This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it. I look forward to the continuing saga featuring Leo and Chastity in "The Don".

Was it better than book 1? Maybe…I guess the connected plot is a tad more revealed though I feel like we all knew it was Matasso since book 1 so idk why that was the big reveal this time.
Abigail being this “perfect” society daughter then suddenly deciding to lose her virginity at a sex club to a stranger because of what Matteo showed her Jefferson was doing seems crazy. Of course, in this strange HEA it can’t actually be a stranger so Matteo gets there in time to step in to do the honors. Abigail knows it and is delighted.
They begin their relationship which at first it built on a business arrangement of sorts but Matteo surprises her with a Vegas wedding. And voila, Abigail Kensington, daughter of a billionaire is now Abigail Ortega, wife of a mafia don.
One thing I don’t care for in this author’s stories is her lack of timing - everything seems to happen in the first 24-48 hours. So when Abigail suddenly realizes she loves Matteo it’s the evening of the wedding day, or so it seems. Perhaps the next day if they were married in Vegas at night. But there’s no actual time passing to make this more obvious. It all flows into one long day practically. So when Abigail is taken by the Dark Lords, it’s the same night and rescued the next day? No idea.
But this one will be another HEA. And once again Diana slips in and slips out so easily. She’ll be the last one standing and it won’t surprise me to hear she’s been with Matasso the whole time plotting.

The Consigliere is the second instalment of the Ortega Mafia series. Matteo is an Ortega and in a fight with his brothers to regain their mafia kingdom. Matteo is dark, dangerous sexually and brooding. Abigail is lightness and perfectly poised and polished. She is a pawn in so many plots. Matteo is sent on a game of revenge. His desire is edged with hatred but Abigail challenges and intrigues him. I love Abigail's strong, fiery and intelligent character and how she doesn’t back down but is always calculating. This story and this trilogy is full of passion with strong and capable characters. It has intrigue, gripping suspense and a formidable foe. It is an absolute page turner that I could not put down. The Ortega Brothers story continues in this book to where the battle with their step mother Diana and her lover Mario Bachini continues, but the twist shows up with Abigail Kensington. She is the one woman Mario has never had but wants, luckily for Matteo Ortega he finds this information out and will use her to his and his brothers advantage in taking back their families business. The twist and turns continue in this book as with all Stella' s book which make them amazing and leaving you wanting more especially with the relationships slow build with the main male and female character. Can't wait for the third book "The Don" to continue the Ortega Brothers story.

Matteo is determined to get revenge by taking the one thing his family's arch enemy, Mario is obsessed with. Abigail Kensington is the daughter of a billionaire business man and Mario has always wanted her. However, she is already promised to another to join two wealthy families together. As with all of these stories there are many twists and turns some of them extremely twisted, be warned. But the book is extremely compelling as Matteo claims Abigail as his own, none of them more surprised by this as Matteo is himself.

great series
I absolutely love this series and love it even more when it intertwines with previous books Stella Andrew’s has written! I absolutely love it! Because I love the other series too!! Great writing, plots and romance! Can’t wait for the continuation of this series. Also will the Ortega boys learn their sister is alive and well? Will Baron make another appearance and will we know his position in all this? Will MC make a special appearance since they took care of Frankie? So many questions… would love to know the answers. Highly recommend Ms Andrew’s and her books!! 5+ stars

Whirlwind, but quick easy read.
I found the plot actually pretty good. There was a fair amount going on and it was interesting. I couldn't see all the twists and turns coming. Some pretty depraved scenes so check your trigger warnings if you need to.
I hadn't read the first book but was able to keep up with the plot without it. Ends on a cliffhanger to be continued in the 3rd book.
I really didn't like the flash backs to sex scenes with OW. Or how he responded to her/desribed her when they met again. Not my jam. I prefer my mafia men wholly obsessed for fmc. I would have ran out on him too 🙅♀️

This book was off the charts amazing , and I never want the Ortega stories to end. While looking for a way to continue to take down.there step mother and Mario. Matteo sets his sites on the one person Mario cares for. Abigail is a survivor and was born into a life where she was to be sold off and married to a man she never loved, when Matteo strikes a deal these two tear down each others walls and have the most incredible story. I can't wait for Leo and Chastity, and I'm already eagerly waiting for the penultimate end to this amazing series.

Book 2 of the Ortega Mafia series-The Consigliere. What an amazing story, 5++ stars. Matteo Ortega and his brothers are trying to take down his stepmother, Diana and her lover Mario Bachini. Matteo goes after the one-person Mario cares about Abigail Kensington. But Matteo and Abigail have some serious chemistry. I don’t want to give anything away in this book you will just have to read it and trust me you won’t be able to put it down. I am so looking forward for the next book Ortega Mafia-The Don. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Abigail is the daughter of a very wealthy man. She is going to be engaged to a young man who is not good for her. He gets caught in a compromising situation which is caught on tape my Matteo Ortega. He contacts Abigail so she can see the tape. She then goes to a place where all kinds of sex acts are performed. Enter Matteo who steals her virginity.
That weekend he takes her to Vegas and marries her to be used against his families enemy Mario and Diana.
This is an amazing book. The characters and storyline are awesome. Can’t wait to read the last book.

I just want to say that I accidentally started reading this book because I heard about a book with the same title but it was a different author and I didn’t realize until after starting the book so….
I never read the first book so I was lacking some of the context. This book didn’t impress me. The plot was whatever. The timeline made no sense - Matteo and Abigail seem to strike a deal, get married, fall in love, and then the “plot” stuff happens and it all seems to be taking place within a span of 3 days?
It feels like this book is just for the smut with a poor plot for the storyline.

People may not agree with how this book went about but honestly, I loved it. The fact that Abigal didn't beat around the bush, she knew what she liked, she used her head, which was one thing I loved about he, she didn't allow her emotions to cloud her judgment, and the one time it did, she paid for her actions. I also loved how he listened to her and enjoyed her input, always bringing her into conversations instead of leaving her out of the loopIt'sts obvious this isn'over over, but this was something. She spent more time writing the couple and fewer plot holes and miscommunication.

Oh my, wow!! Matteo got the surprise of his life when he met Abigail, and she not only captured his attention but twisted his knickers. I love when stories have a twist, and a strong woman is the cause of it. I hope we read more about his right-hand man.

Matteo is set on getting revenge along stopping his Stepmother Diana plans. This has lead him to Abigail who he thinks he can use in that revenge path. This starts their story.

Ortega Mafia book 2. Brilliantly written. So dark and moody. Sexy and oh so naughty. No spoilers from me. This book is hella twisty, angsty and dramatic with a giant leap of WTF craziness. These characters have depth and levels of fascinating ish. Love love love this. I can't wait for the next book in this fabulous series.

wow!
This is my second book from this author and I was not disappointed at all. I really enjoy this book alittle more than the first one, I felt like the characters were more connection and now dwelling on the past so much.
I cant wait to see what happens next with Leo. I’m hoping we can get a novella for Cesare and Stephanie their love needs a story too

Captivating
Book two is much better than book one with a clearer defined plot. An enjoyable read but does not go for enough with the descriptions of the torture, abuse and humiliation of those victimized.
All of the women are too submissive and malleable
for my taste. Women should have spunk and strength. They are good for more than sex and making babies.

Enter the Dark to find the Light
Like a lightning bolt, pieces fall into place as Matteo and Abi find each other. Abi is rebelling against her parents, initially for herself, because she wants the freedom to be whoever she wants, later because she knows it interferes with her parents who traded her to the highest bidder.

It’s a difficult book for me to review because there were parts I liked and parts I didn’t care for at all. I felt our male main character was cruel, but I did understand some of it. Our female was a bit messed up for sure. The storyline works well, the writing is good but many of these characters are cold.
