When the producer of a beer commercial being shot on the grounds of The Whitefork Lodge in Vermont is murdered, lodge owner Max Addams tries to catch the killer. By the author of Casting in Dead Water. Original.
David Leitz grew up on a farm in Indiana and his love for the outdoors began in the woodlots and small ponds that surrounded his home. His love for writing began at about the same time and flourished along with painting at Syracuse University. An advertising agency copywriter and creative director in New York City, San Francisco and Boston for over thirty years, David has written and directed many famous award-winning ads and television commercials. He and his wife Frances live in a 250 year old farm house near the ocean on Massachusetts' north coast although David does much of his writing in a rustic little cabin a roll cast away from a trout stream in southern Vermont. He is the author of five Max Addams' novels as well as numerous award winning short stories.
Our fly fishing sleuth's politican girlfriend is running for governor and can't see him anymore. At loose ends, an advertising company wants to use his place for an advertising campaign. There just happen to be some beautiful models involved. I guess his place is 101 miles from Montpelier?
Anyway, there's an obnoxious lady who is head of the project. Soon enough she dies mysteriously. The ad campaing, of course, keeps on rolling.
Our sleuth also acts like a jerk, boinks a model, and solves the case. Very 90's Clinton-esque.
