A friendly, easy-to-understand explainer for making comic zines from comics educator Eddy Atoms!
Appropriate for kids to adults, this guide shows you the basic steps for creating your very own comic, from brainstorming and character design to layouts and production. Grab some paper, some pens, a stapler, and have fun!
Great short zine about how to make zines. It's not comprehensive, but it's not meant to be. Really good place to start if you know nothing about making a comics zine.
Picked this up along with another how-to make comics book at my (NOT so)LCBS recently. This was far more in line with what I expected. The other was worthless. Frankly, this isn't high on details, but it is uplifting. Probably too much time spent on assembling a 'zine. I want more effects.
Some good tips regarding panels, spreads, etc. I would like even more of that.
As I said, uplifting. Enough that I can see myself attempting this soon.
Very helpful! I can even likely transfer some of this to digital zine making. I've had such a hard time looking up this information on the internet for some reason?? So I'm relieved this covered it all!
though i am not a visual artist and will not be putting this guide to use, it was a fun lil read. i love eddy atoms' art style (pinky & pepper forever is still one of my all time favorite graphic novels).
short, instructive, and punk rock as usual. i love silver sprocket.
